  Monday Night Festive Blinds (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Served blind. Lovely rich nose - clearly claret - maybe graves - with some age and earth to it. Colour - garnet and not very clear - lots of matter in suspension. It's not bordeaux? It's clearly not N Rhone, lots of discussion then...the reveal. Yeah! This is awesome. More mature than I'd expect - definitely on the again / pauillac side of the Trevallon equation. A real treat and privilege to taste this.

  BWCCC Cycling Planning Meeting (Hawksmoor, Guildhall): Served blind. A tad cloudy in the glass but the nose is clean as a whistle; some pomegranate puree sweetness / sourness. A tiny touch of sweaty leather with some rosehip too. Palate has some some venison tartare and some grenache like red fruits. Not quite at the level of the nose but this is still some wine.

  This has mellowed significantly relative to Trevallon in its typical youth. I'd say beginning of mature drinking window with odds of improving further over the next 10 years. We enjoyed this at Per Se restaurant, but if I had bottles in my cellar, I might drink one now but save the rest for even better days ahead.
