  Glorious Waterside Inn (The Waterside Inn, Bray): Decanted and served. Just really for the sediment as the wine is touch fragile and we would not suggest a long decant. Fragile but also singing from the word go. Frankly have w head this blind we would have said 1980s Bordeaux maybe a Pauillac on account of a soft austerity of fruit. So well evolved, tertiary, earthy, leather and tobacco, cedar and spice. All hallmarks of Bordeaux really . A magical wine and such a joy to cross paths with it. 93

  wonderful aroma and flavour of wild strawberries alongside the expected notes of tertiary aromas (undergrowth/mushroom). On its plateau and bringing a lot of joy.

  Une robe bien pâle, évoluée, presque brunâtre au ménisque, laissant entrevoir un vin vieux...
  Un nez qui sent les truffes, avec des truffes et encore plus de truffes! En me forçant un peu, j'y trouve aussi de la fraise des champs et un coté floral. La bouche montre une bonne acidité et une vigueur qu'on associerait à un vin d'une dizaine d'années au plus. Léger en bouche, il a une grâce aérienne, c'est très fin et il paraissait même un peu mince au début. Il montre par la suite une richesse aromatique extraordinaire, qu'on trouve uniquement chez de vieux Bourgognes. La finale est complexe, finement épicée. La meilleure de trois '86 achetées à l'encan, celle qui parait la plus jeune. Magnifique vin, tout cela avec un 12% d'alcool. Même pas 12.5%! 93 pts
