TASTING: Montepulciano versus Montalcino (Apeldoorn): Wine was not prperly stored. kork fell into the bottle with a little push. opened 8 hours prior to rasting ,decanted. color: gold/brown like a tired vinsanto. not clear. nose: oxidized, but still exciting in a way. nose inproved with time. tasted not blind: well, for a not well stored 40 year old wine: not bad. you just need to taste it with expectations adjusted to it. sherry calvados tones. currants, nuts, diluted finish. difficult to discribe, but it was axciting and certainly not undrinkable.
