  • Another great example of the 2016s being ready to go right from the beginning. A vibrant wine with a complex, evolving palate. Enjoyed two glasses via coravin and then finished the bottle twos days later. The first glasses after popping the cork were the best...probably benefited from the small amount of air that the coravin introduces. Excited to see where this goes, but already very enjoyable

  • The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), prune, raisin and light toast. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

  • Nose of cherry, earth, mushrooms. Solid spine of acidity and fine tannins. And what a finish! Drinks like a pinot but then the savory notes give it away. Have two more which I shall patiently age.

  • 3 hour decant. Closed and needs way more time in the bottle. Found it hard to score this since I rarely drink wines so far in advance of their drinking window. Strong cherry and plum notes and strong tannins. First Biondi-Santi I’ve had and consumed to determine whether to purchase a half-case to put away in the cellar.
