Really nice, but early. Feels like it needs more time to develop – sort of in between phases right now, so a bit confounding, but so so promising. Totally enjoyable at the moment...

1st of 6. This is a really polished well balanced wine that required a 90 min decant to gain depth and open up. It’s so smooth that I would have guessed it a 2004 or 07. This must be in its prime drinking window with a solid 5 years left of optimal drinking.
Eric brought this to the Italian wine dinner. He openned it 4 hours in bottle and surprisingly it served very well. It had a wonderful nose, smooth palate and long after taste.

Couple hours after decanting. Still seems austere, wound up. Very pleasurable but not terribly giving.

This had the usual reserved start for Biondi, where I was at maximum 95p (I know complaining on very high levels🤣)
With 4-5h of air in the bottle got more and more gentle on the tannins.
Ripe forest strawberry, cherry, underbrush, plenty of quality tannins, long finish.
I would leave this alone for at least 5 more years, maybe 10. I expect it to shine then!
2029 - 2045
97p++
Thanks so much @Riaan for this great contribution!
