I really enjoyed this without food. Needs 5yrs or 4-6hr slow ox to open and show richness as this isn't very dense. Lots of red fruit with a cola, clove and violet finish which becomes a touch smokey with air. With cinnamon on the nose this is a really fun spice box. Just wish for a touch more body, concentration and power, but for a 2004 this is great and should gain in body over the next 5-10yrs. Try to hold off a couple of years as upside. 93-95pts. Drink 2020-2030.

Tasted blind. Moderately expressive Nose: cigar; somewhat leafy; a bit fumey; chicken wings with jerk seasoning; smells like Vosne Romanee to me; hint of teriyaki. No tannins on the palate; medium acidity; flavors of orange juice and wood; alcohol not noticeable on the palate. Overall, very nice, and I was astonished to see '04 at the reveal --- I think guessed '01. No GMs here, as far as I could tell, and that was the consensus in the room, too.

Fairly closed, but pleasant aromatics. Fresh and refined palate with good elegance to the (red) fruit, along with nice cut and underlying structure. On the leaner side, and though there was a hint of a green element, it wasn't distracting. Enjoyed this very much, though it will need another 5+ years before it blossoms fully. Served blind to a group of friends, most guessed 2001 or 2008.

Leaner bottle. Could be an off bottle.
