A bit closed at first but then opened up really well with the tell tale fragrant Arnoux nose we know from RSV. Cured meat, sour cherry, cedar wood. The palate is on the light side for a 2002. Great showing. 95+

A most enjoyable wine lunch (Eddie V's Prime Seafood McLean Virginia): This one grew on me. At first it seemed to be bit sour on the finish, a bit tight and sour and I was getting a hint of volatile acidity but that blew off after about 30 minutes if it was actually there. The oak driven tannins dry out a bit too much for me to get too excited, but there is no denying the ripe red and black cherry that inundates the excellent mid palate.

Very young, showing a lot of vintage typical red fruited baby fat, but also a lot of unintegrated oak. Surprisingly modern in character. The 2001 Suchots I drank earlier this year had wonderful Vosne spice, great texture, and didn't show any overt oak signature, so I'm hoping this just needs another 5-10 years to eat the oak and let the terroir show through.

Lovely nose. Surprisingly full bodied. Black fruits. Slightly imprecise. Nose really strongest part of an overall good wine. No hurry to drink.

Aroma was deeply funky more what I’d expect from Suchots. Dark color, intriguing. Didn’t get much time with this wine, would be keen to revisit.
