This grew and grew in the glass and was wonderful. There are light florals, smoked meats and some cedar. Red and black fruits are in high definition. It is deep and complex and velvety of texture. The finish is expansive and very long.

Served blind came late in the night. Sparse notes but remember this being very good indeed. Lots of blueberry on the nose, very round palate. Felt early or a decant would have helped but very good underlying materials!

Dark and brooding especially for a VR. People thought it was a chambolle or gevrey in blind which makes a lot of sense. Good structure but you would expect more floralness and delicacy from a VR. But for Robert Arnoux’s style in vintage like 99, the wine will need a lot more time to be resolved for his extracted style. Give it at least 3 more years.
