2001 Arnoux VR 1er cru tasting- A mix of dark and red fruit, sweet spice, and flowers. Palate is powerful and masculine, which opens up gradually in the glass. Not as finessed and easy to please compared to the beautiful Suchots but still very good. It should benefit from 2-3 more year of cellaring. 92+

From 3L, the only one in the world. Changes with every glass. There is sustained bouquet that never fades, pure cherry fruit, violet, primrose, touch of sweet spice, deep roasted meat, cardamom and wood. The profile is very Reignots and closer to Vosne GC, with incredible dimension and breath. Mouthwatering and supple. First glass bears resemblance to liger belair, but lighter and more lifted. Size really matters. 94

From the list of The Ledbury, London. Beautiful nose, floral and expressive. Sweet and smooth on the attack. Certainly ready and and approachable but could use a few more years as there are still some noticeable tannins. Still showing a bit of oaks too, or is it typical of Arnoux wines? Good stuff. (B+)
A lazy holiday lunch - Arnoux, Marcassin, Drouhin, Machina, Dujac and etc. (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Medium expressive nose displaying ripe red fruits, vosne spices, flowers, mushroom and earth. Medium concentration, polished silky palate, slightly light middle palate, nicely integrated tannins and lovely clean finish. Certainly no GC, not terribly complex and the fruit is not layered but showing a good amount of Vosne spices. Drinking extremely well. This may sound vague but very Arnoux, very Vosne 1er and very 2001. Highly recommend.
