This bottle was kept in ideal conditions since release. The wine was very tight and fruit-driven initially and kept gaining complexity as it breathed. The last glass after four hours in the decanter drank best.
The full-bodied wine was dark ruby in colour and showed ripe red and dark fruit, dark cherry, boysenberry, plum, dark chocolate, coffee, spices, liquorice, some black tea and underlying mineral notes, with good acidity, fine, firm tannin and superb length. This outstanding wine was dense and complex, with great concentration, yet elegant and very well-balanced, with a smooth texture. A level of balance and minerality I have rarely seen from Portugal. And the wine's concentration and the quality of tannin also stand out.
A truly great wine that should continue to drink well for another 20+ years!

Clear garnet in color with brick color on edges. Need decant to blow off some of that cork smell upon opening. But after 30 mins in decanter nice cherry nose. Nice acidity, med. odd, light tannins, dried fruit, cherry, and balsamic on palate. Medium finish. Drinking nice now, but wouldn’t hold much longer.

Showing a fair degree of oxidation, still some interest, but this bottle a few years past its best.
