  In der Nase ist das sehr blaubeerig, dazu etwas Pflaume, etwas Brombeere. Viel frischer weißer Champignon, dazu angetrocknete Garrigue-Kräuter, Rauch und auch etwas BBQ. Schließlich noch sehr würzig mit vor allem viel Pfeffer. Sehr schöne, reichhaltige und komplexe Nase, stetig im Wandel. Mit viel Luft sogar auch Tabak. Insgesamt erinnert mich das sehr an (sehr guten) Merlot.
  
  Am Gaumen finde ich die Komplexität so wieder, allerdings vor allem im An- und Mitteltrunk. Hier kommt eine sehr saftige, sehr gut und klar strukturierende Säure dazu, das hat so ordentlich Zug. Sehr schöner Biss, tolle Haptik. Der Wein wirkt durchaus warm und ich hier sehr würzig, allerdings dabei sehr elegant und die nur 12% Alk. tragen sicher sehr dazu bei. Bis hierhin Weltklasse und am Gaumen natürlich ohne jegliche Ähnlichkeit mit Merlot. Nun würde ich mir ein würdiges Finale wünschen, allerdings klingt der Wein hier etwas zügig und ohne weiteres Highlight aus.
  
  In keinster Weise grün oder unreif (hatte ich bei dem niedrigen Alkohol etwas befürchtet), jetzt für mich sehr gut zu trinken.

  Light, flabby, simple. I’ve had Redoma since the 1990’s, which I’ve loved. I’ve recommended it for ~15 years as a great QPR wine. However, this is easily the worst one I’ve had. It almost seems as though Niepoort has increased quantity at the expense of quality. If this was a $15 bottle I’d be ok with it. Need to open some younger vintages and see if this is a one off or a not so good trend.

  Strong tannins make this young wine coarse, but there’s a lot of acidity amd good mouth feel to make me think this will be very nice in 5 years.
