My first time having the 1994 vintage, which was the first made, and in fact the only vintage I had yet to taste. Perfect fill, clean label, impeccable cork—the original owner clearly took care of this bottle. A flawless drinking experience: ample acidity, well-integrated tannins, primary fruits (blue and purple), and hints of secondary aromas and flavors (vanilla, cinnamon). It quite literally isn’t made like this anymore; 15 days on the skins, compared with 41 in 2015, the current release. I could drink this forever. Sadly, I imagine there aren’t many bottles remaining in the world. Bottle #1771.
Mike and Carla's. Excellent concentration of sweet secondary flavors; characteristic high toned quality minimally present. No hurry to drink, but not sure how these evolve w age.
