Pop and pour. The wine is drinking very young but definitely approachable. Dense and layered with tones of menthol, cedar, fresh dirt, and cherry fruit. I don't drink these wines regularly but it reminded me of a young left bank Bordeaux, and a good one at that. I'm curious to see where this wine lands in 5-10 years. Great wine.

This was quite a pleasant surprise. Was approachable after a PNP and only 15-20 minutes of air. Strong, intense and wound-up, but still quite pleasant. Opened up and got more interesting as it unfurled. Recorked and saved half the bottle but then forgot about it. Found it in the back of the fridge over 2 months later and assumed it would be wasted. Instead, my wife and I were fighting over the last sips- it was that good. It was still rustic, of course- typical for a Sagrantino. It was somehow simultaneously light in mouthfeel but dark & brooding, well-balanced and complex. And overall really delicious. This has a very long and rewarding life ahead of it!

Delicious and crisp wild cherry fruit with good intensity and that classic feral quality of Bea's wines. A bit lighter and less intense than the '15 but perhaps more elegant and refined (within the context of the rustic style of this wine). Another winner vintage of this.

Unbelievable wine. Pretty on the nose and great acidity to balance the alcohol. Will probably be a 95-96 in 15-20 years. Overall: 94+

Very nice but closed. Where are the tannins? Very smooth for a Sagrantino from Bea
