  • Decanted for 2 hours, consumed over the next 2, celebrating my birthday with the St Jeans. Medium shoulder full. Youthful black/red color. Cedar, leather, cassis and some bottle funk on the nose. Still a very lively palate with good dark fruit flavor profile, fine grained and silky tannins and a surprisingly long finish. This did not fade over time, although it didn’t get any better either. Amazing what a good property can do in a bad vintage like 1960.

  • Auduzed for 3 hours. Earthy nose, showing leather, anise and truffle oil elements. Deep palate, dried black fruits and cassis flavors, nice mid weight texture. Great wine from a weak vintage.

  • Late birthday celebration. A lot of mold and dried wine under the capsule. Cork came out in 3 pieces. Audozed for 3 hours. Very little sediment. Wonderful nose of leather, cedar and cranberry. Very alive on the palate, silky and very smooth with enough complexity to maintain interest. An old school claret.
