A disappointing experience sadly. Had other vintages which have been superb but this was flat and uninspiring. Lacked fruit and acidity and was immediately forgettable.

Straight forward and easy drinking from the first pour. Smooth tanning and a silky finish without showing the same depth one would expect from a better vintage of this fine chateau.
The nose is pleasant with plums and dominant red fruits.

It was Bastile Day so I opted for French wine. Opened for two hours prior to dinner. The nose was dark plums and minerals. On the palate there was plums, a touch of cherry minerals and graphite. The finish was moderate to long.

Medium-fullish, mature and subtle nose that seems well preserved. Raisin, dried plum, cedar, ink and nuts. Tertiary notes of sweet tobacco and dried fruit. Harmonius. Medium body. Fully mature, but preserved. Smooth and inky. Velvety tannins. Very harmonius mouthfill. But not so intense and a bit short finish. The weak vintage shows. Still very satisfying. But would not hold on to this one.

9th CB Wine Night - CT 91 up!: notes to come. Alcohol quite forward on the palate tonight. Got better with more time. Quite a chameleon.
