Mongeard-Mugneret (Arlequin SF): Medium minus ruby (darker than the first 4) to a garnet rim. The nose reminds me of a fruit stand (Sigona’s) in the summer - rotting melon, oxidizing fruit, slight sulfur. It also reminds me of fruit markets in the Philippines. Rotting tropical fruit. There’s also some sweet tamari soy development, and some overt bruised apple core, and bruised starfruit. It smells tired. Prematurely developed. It’s starting to get old without developing really strong tertiary notes. m body, m+ alcohol, just medium acid, m+ tannins (tannic!). Not my favorite. I think this is starting to be over the hill.

(Mongeard-Mugneret Clos Vougeot) Dark cherry red color; intriguing dried berry, dried cherry and mint nose; very tight, tart cherry and mineral palate, yielding very little else at this point; medium-plus finish

The wine is still good, floral, and very aromatic. The tenin is balanced, got a bit of peach aroma, slightly fruity and a hint of sweet.
Still got a bit of age left even though it is a 15 years old bottle. It is a grand cru after all.
