Double decanted, then slow oxed for 7 hours. Brilliant garnet-red with a slightly orange rim. Black berries and fine tobacco in the nose, mint, plus a slight whiff of licorice and some heat. On the palate it is full-flavored and warm with suggestions of fresh spices and red fruit. Finishes with slight bitterness that indicates the hot 2003 vintage. One of the best 2003 Baroli I have tasted so far.

very disappointing, a lot of heat/alcohol is present, but the most negative point of this wine is the oxidation, it was already present just after opening, I don't see much future in this wine and I can't understand that a certain RP gave this wine a 93 score, my 86 score is really the maximum I can give for this wine during the first two days, so obviously this leads to very poor p/q
edit on the 3th day : some improvement, it suffered less from oxidation and showed more as a classical Barolo, but still with poor p/q, increased my score to 88

No detailed notes. High-level perceptions - perfumed nose with spicy dark fruit. Approachable on the palate, with fine and tame tannins on the backend.

(C+) A bit light in color. Still too much acid, not enough muscle. Oak and a bit of wet earth.
