Deep crimson color. Aromas of black currants, leather and plum with a very pleasant herbal overtone. There's a ripeness to the fruit. Medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins and flavors of plum, black fruit and spice. Finishes very well; seems like it could go a few years yet as well. Violets and other florals emerge with more time in the glass. An excellent showing. I suspected this was out '94, but others' guesses centered on Bordeaux.
This had been double decanted off its sediment and back into the bottle about 1.25 hours before the flight was poured, cork removed from the bottle for the last 45 minutes.

Black center, scarlet edge. Intense cherry-berry and chocolate aromas; huge, extracted fruit (the zanies at our end of the table are calling it "the Incredible Hulk"), so brawny and young that it's like tasting from the barrel. Buy, buy, buy ... hold, hold, hold.

The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Rich & Dana's): Tasted double blind at the September Blind Drunks tasting. Deep garnet color, opaque at the center. Notes of blackberry, tobacco and bell pepper. Sweet tannins on the palate, with a wealth of red fruit and a fine balance. I thought '95 Napa Cab. A very nice showing.

Melville Clone Tasting AND pre-2000 California Cabernet: Good fruit depth and nicely matured. Nice but lacks excitement.
