Tasting. Fresh fruit, even if a bit simple, with good spice. Best to drink young.

Tasting. My favorite of the Dublere reds at the table, of course this is 2006 vs. the others 2007. Red and black fruit, quite ripe. Good density and some emerging hints of Gevrey animale character on finish. Also probably best on the young side, perhaps, 2011-2016.

Tasting. I had low expectations for Savigny in 2007 but this was a very pleasant surprise. Powerful red and black fruit holding up well to firm structure, everything in good balance already, with good persistence.

Tasting. Big and dense fruit, somewhat firm and backward today, with structure a bit dominant for the level and quality of fruit that came through today. Needs perhaps a decade in cellar.

Tasting, brief note. Black fruit aromas with oak spice and a very Gevrey sauvage element. Good density for its level, particularly for the vintage. Probably best on the younger side, 2012-2017.

Tasting, brief note. Slightly reductive to start, also showing a very intense Gevrey-Chambertin animale character. Dense black cherry and blackberry aromas and flavors with very balancing and harmonious spice. Long and powerful. Exceptional potential, particularly for the vintage.

Tasting, brief note. This was ok but for a few dollars more I would always choose Burguet's Gevrey-Chambertin Places des Lois, also tasted today.

Tasting, brief note. Black fruit in overall good balance already now. Somewhat simple but a very good everyday drinker for a young wine in the $25-30 price range.

Tasting, brief note. A real step up from the Burguet 2006 Gevrey Places des Lois just tasted. Black fruit aromas, layered flavors. Long, dark fruit. Very impressive for its level. Cellar to at least 2013, this should then drink well for a decade+.

Tasting, brief note. Simple red fruit flavors and aromas. Forward and accessible, but simple with a slightly bitter hint on the finish.

Tasting, brief note. Big black fruit on nose and palate, lots of structure from middle to finish. Good potential for its level, but needs a few years to soften.

Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry aromas. Fruit is very pleasant and approachable today, this will be best now through 2015.

Tasting, brief note. Mostly red fruit with good background spice. Firmly structured, this will need another 3-5 years in the cellar, but it has good raw materials. 89-90 point potential, very good for the 2007 vintage.

Tasting, brief note. Ripe fruit aromas with some mushroom elements. Mostly ripe red cherry on palate, very accessible with moderate intensity and weight. everything in balance, best to drink young. A well made 2007.

Tasting, brief note. Accessible, ripe red fruit aromas with floral background hints. Similar fruit on palate with some earth hints and textures. Moderate length and finesse. Good for its level.

Tasting, brief note. Very good aromatic start sowing red fruit, floral notes and spice. Slightly less interesting today on palate, with same fruit but firmly structured. Needs plenty of time in cellar for a 2007.

Tasting, brief note. For me this was a big step up from the Volnay Caillerets also just tasted. Pretty and charming red fruit aromas with a good spice complement. Forward red fruit on palate that is ripe and approachable, well framed with moderate tannins for mid-term consumption, 2012-2017.

Tasting, brief note. Came across as very 2007 - ripe start, simple middle, slightly rough finish. Ok for it level.

Tasting, brief note. Shows lots of red fruit, good textures, really showcasing Chambolle character. Delicate and a bit simple.

Tasting, brief note. Floral start with robust red fruit. Well textured, long on palate. A bit hard in the middle today, give this to 2015 or later and I expect it will be a classic Chambolle beauty.

Tasting, brief note. Large boned wine from Vosne that didn't really show lots of Vosne character to me today. Good and easy to drink, best young.

Tasting, brief note. I normally like this wine a lot, considering it a great "value" Bonnes Mares that will also drink well on the younger side (8-15 years old). This was forward and ripe but didn't really show the Bonnes Mares muscle or firmness, ending with a slightly empty finish. I think this will get better in a few years, but expect it will drink best young, perhaps, 2012-2018.

Tasting, brief note. A very good 2006 that shows charming Vosne character I often enjoy in good NSG Boudots. Ripe fruit aromas with clove and nutmeg. Mostly black fruit flavors, again well supported with spice and hints of new oak. Good balance and textures. Very good.

Tasting, brief note. Forward fruit with spice hints. More 2007 than Vosne to me today, good wine to drink young.

Tasting, brief note. Pale color. Nicely perfumed with moderate red cherry aromas. Red cherry and spice hints on palate. Approachable now with moderate density, this is a very well made 2007 Grand Cru that will most likely drink best on the young side.

Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry aromas, bit of earth and floral hints. Moderate and accessible fruit with some sauvage meatiness. Forward and accessible, best to drink young.

Tasting, brief note. Red fruit aromas and flavors with some meaty, Gevrey hints in background. Moderate density at best, I found this a little thin and drying on finish. Others seemed to like this more than I did today.

Tasting, brief note. A sensational 2007. Great floral start with ripe red fruit. Comes across as slightly delicate to start with a lacy texture, almost Chambolle-like. Picks up sneaky power and heft in middle, but I expect this will pick up considerable weight with time in the cellar, partly as the oak softens and integrates. Great spice on finish. Elegance in a bottle.

Tasting, brief note. Ripe red berry and cherry aromas with good spice. Perhaps a bit oaky for right now. Slightly more subtle on palate with some delicacy, good textures and layers starting to emerge. Comes across as a wine that nicely intersects NSG and Vosne-Romanee.

Tasting, brief note. A very successful 2007 with forward red fruit aromas and background spice hints. Moderate weight and density but overall good balance. I would expect this to drink well young, perhaps best 2012-2020.

Tasting, brief note. Mostly black fruit aromas and flavors. Slightly meaty but not dense. Approachable now, best on the young side, 2011-2017.

Tasting, brief note. A fascinating contrast with its 2007 counterpart, also just tasted. This 2006 has much more density and concentration with large scaled black fruit and prominent tannins. Somewhat firm right now, this will require some time in cellar to show its full potential.

Tasting, brief note. Tough wine to assess. Good start that is floral and slightly perfumed with forward red fruit. Palate also showed ripe red cherry and raspberry but came across as thinner than I 'd expect and somewhat lean. Spice emerged on finish.

Tasting, b rief note. Rich and ripe red fruit with moderately perfumed start. Came across as far more substantial and robust than another bottle tasted last month.

2007 Domaine Dublère Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Tasting. Really sensational. Big and fat fruit aromas and flavors that show some tropical fruit upfront, followed by ripe and intense apple. While there seems to be an ever-so-slightly sweet element here, everything comes across in great harmony, particularly on a long impressive finish. 93-94 point potential for me today, one of my 2 favorite white wines at the tasting.

2007 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Folatières En la Richarde
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting. Very floral start with lots of apple, pear and lemon peel. More of the lemon and lemon peel on palate, with great acidity and minerality. Very long, nuanced finish. Much better than when tried a few months back, which might have been just as it arrived in the US. 92-93 point potential here.

2002 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Lean for the vintage, austere in a mostly good way, seemingly somewhat shut down at present.
