4/5/2024 - NickA Likes this wine: 94 pointsThomas’s Northern Rhone extravaganza (Cabotte): Boom - this sort of showing is why we turned up tonight. Classic, complex nose with red fruit, red meat, black pepper, ash, truffle and clove. Fully mature on the palate: savoury and food-friendly, and very long. Sexy wine. My and the group's #3. |

4/13/2024 - MrOctoberfest Likes this wine: NRMy first Jasmin. So delicate and floral that you almost forget that this is Syrah. Why do I continue to buy Red Burg that costs double or more than this and rarely thrills me like Jasmin did tonight? |

4/5/2024 - Jamieson12o Likes this wine: 95 pointsSyrah at Cabotte (Cabotte): First wine of the night with any classic Cote Rotie meatiness; classic mature Cote Rotie. Still lots of fruit - red and black but leaning towards red (raspberries?), and some dusty tannins. Loads left in the tank but feels like this will plateau for ~5 years rather than improve. Just absolutely delicious and everything you could ask for. |

2/29/2024 - Jamieson12o Likes this wine: 91 pointsSyrah - Rhone vs SA - Cabotte with the NLWTS (Cabotte): Really fruit forward nose. Brambles and blackberries on the nose; still some noticeable fruit/sweetness. Hint of Jamminess? Not much of that classic cote-rotie ‘meatiness’. On the palate, noticeably high acidity; pretty austere. No jamminess to speak of. At nearly 20 years old the fruit isn’t exactly exuberant, but it doesn’t seem to have yet been replaced by many lovely tertiary notes either. Really fresh and direct, but needs more time for me. 91++ |

3/14/2024 - mwneil Likes this wine: 90 pointsLight, funky nose, tart with complex fruit flavors, similar to my precious notes, we really like this wine although our reaction to it has differed from bottle to bottle, however for a Syrah it is such a revelation that it usually impresses with the combination of fruit and terroir, drank with grilled chicken wings and thighs, plaintains, haricot verts, basmati rice and guac, will drink again, for the northern rhone a a great value. |

3/10/2024 - ewhite wrote: 89 pointsWhile this wine's best days are behind it, it was charming nonetheless. Clear ruby in color, with surprisingly little bricking, the wine started off somewhat dilute and shy. After decanting and swirling a bit the nose picked up nicely, with lovely red fruit, some savory spice notes, a hint of earth. On the palate this was light, with fully resolved tannins, with a quite short finish. Drink up if you got 'em! |

3/5/2024 - sid_loves_wine Likes this wine: 94 pointsSeriously beautiful- in my upper echelon of Cote-Rotie for sure. This starts off particularly high-pitched and very savory on the nose, with cured meats, olive brine, and a bit of bright funk, almost barnyard. I love that kind of thing, but there has to be fruit, and thankfully it emerged really quickly- a super-pure, really fresh, yet obviously ripe blackberry just behind the savory blast, with a bit of baking spice thrown in for good measure. Palate is pretty much exactly the same as the nose. It's very concentrated and present, but has a surprising brightness to it, especially as the fruit itself clearly falls into the darker spectrum. |

2/29/2024 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 91 pointsSyrah at Cabotte with the TWS North London Group (Cabotte, London): Deep dark to medium red. Smells a bit shiny if that is a thing, silken perhaps, some candyfloss element. So it is a bit of a surprise that the wine is much firmer on the palate than these initial hints of sweetness indicate. Like it's flightmate the Clape '96, it is an austere wine that has ages to go seemingly. The fruit kicks in at the back end and is very delicious, I just think the wine needs longer to come together and I'd be pleased if this was the first of a case. |

2/29/2024 - lozatron Likes this wine: NRSyrah - N Rhone vs SA with the N London Crew; 2/29/2024-3/1/2024 (La Cabotte): Nose seems more expressive than its flightmate - someone said "shiny" and this seems fair - oak? Stems? Reduction? This is tight tight tight - still a pup really. Clearly quality wine there but I'd wait a little while before drinking another. |

2/17/2024 - mattym19 Likes this wine: 90 pointsBy the bottle at La Villaret in Paris. Nose is quite shy at this point, even after being open in the bottle for almost two hours, I’m really not getting mush of anything here. Maybe some ripe plums and a little alcohol. Palate is much more expressive. Lifted and fresh with ripe red cherries, cola, hints of violets, white pepper, slightly minty. More on the fruity side of Syrah than the savory side but not flabby or rich at all. Drinking well now and an excellent value at a restaurant in this case (~$100 at current exchange rates) but maybe not life-changing. Paired quite well with the meat-heavy cuisine though. |

1/27/2024 - Cake & Fine Wine wrote: 96 pointsThis is what Côte Rôtie should be like - med to full bodied, lift, black cherry, cured meat, floral, intense and complex. I love Syrah with Viognier and this is a terrific example. Already drinking well, I believe Jasmin’s cote Rotie is known for its early approachability, but will obviously improve with age. Decanted for 2hrs. |

This shows a little more like Cabernet than Syrah or at least Cote Rotie, not much smokiness, no florals, no olive, etc., Pleasant and nice to drink on a freezing cold evening apres ski. |

On nose, meat, iodine, saline, blackberry, black olives. Very fragrant. Palate profile similar to nose ex. meat. Full body, medium tannins, medium+ acidity and very long finish. As MickethePickle noted, this is ready to roll. |
