10/1/2017 - SteveHyde Likes this wine: 87 pointsStill comes across as heavy, clunky, overlooked. Dense purple in color, loads of oak on the nose. Bramble, dark berry fruit, a bit of heat. Not sure this one is going to improve. Not past peak. Not muddy. But, yes, a bit monolithic. |

9/27/2017 - bgrimm Likes this wine: 92 pointsReally nice Bolgheri Rosso, not too fat. First year with 10 percent Cab Sauv. Same vineyards used for the top wines of the estate (however higher yield) - Cab Franc / Syrah / Merlot. |

9/27/2017 - bgrimm Likes this wine: 94 points100 percent Cab Franc, reaching drinking window now (should reach peak in 5-7 years). Promising nose, good balance (not too much herbs), powerful but elegant. If QPR would be better, I would fill the cellar with this wine. |

9/6/2017 - JonnyG Likes this wine: 95 pointsA killer beauty of a wine, youthful yet well rounded, but should improve with time. Floral nose. Crunchy, dark red fruit along with some bell pepper, graphite and slate. A high energy, vibrant wine. Superb |

9/4/2017 - MatthewVino Likes this wine: 91 pointsDeveloping very well in the cellar. Nice blend of 50% Merlot 30% Cabernet-Sauv 20% Syrah. Deep ruby color with a dark fruit, leather cocao nose. Medium body with pleasant dusty tannins and a Med+ finish. Great now but should be better in a few years. |

8/21/2017 - dream wrote: 88 pointsBeautiful nose of cherry tree bark, bitter chocolate and eucalyptus. Quite smooth and full on the palate with a velvety voluptuousness and tasty flavors of bitter chocolate, dark berries and blackberry jam. Finishes with some smooth, firm tannins and notes of cherry pit and a hint of spice. A really well-made merlot but it's flavor go to the jammy side which always turns me off and never bodes well for aging. I much prefer the '13 Paleo from this producer. |

8/20/2017 - NostraBacchus Likes this wine: 96 pointsDecanted for 2 hours. Similar showing to the last one about 1.5 years ago. Beautiful aromatocs of dark fruit, flowers, some bell peppers, sweet spices, some dark chocolate, graphite. It's medium-full bodied, has medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that is present but very good quality. Excellent length. A superb Cabernet Franc from this great producer. It combines the richness of the region with the freshness of the vintage and impeccable winemaking. |

8/19/2017 - ctbob Likes this wine: NRI like this wine. It has very good structure and balance. It opens tightly wound, and it doesn't much evolve from that, but the tannic structure helps it stand up to food. If one thinks that wine is primarily a beverage that goes with food, then this wine will please those wine drinkers. I don't see it going anywhere much more interesting than where it is now, and it isn't now nor will it become anything extraordinarily memorable, but it will be a good accompaniment with any food on the more hearty than not scale. Here's the bottom line: have some more, and I'm glad I do. Medium weight red that is very food friendly. No need to keep longer, but no rush, either. |

8/18/2017 - dream Likes this wine: 93 pointsPretty nose of dark red fruits and a hint of tobacco. Quite plush for Cab Franc with rich black currant fruit but then some good Italian acidity and structure kick in to keep the wine fresh and intense. Finishes with supple tannins and beautiful notes of black earth, minerals and tobacco leaf. Some might question the typicity of the grape and this certainly isn't Chinon but rather a great expression of voluptuous Cab Franc that really works. 93+ 6 people found this helpful, do you?
