  • One of several wines for my birthday weekend. Had it at Capital Grill with friends.

Opened for about 10 min and then double decanted for 30 and consumed about one hour later.

This is a magnificent Cabernet Franc and imposible to guess in a blind tasting. Medium plus body, firm tannins and good acidity. Very nice finish and outshined a bottle of 2016 David Arthur 3 acres (which needed more oxygen).

    This is a great QPR.

    Drink or hold.

  • I wanted to keep my next bottle for 10 years, but managed barely a month…

Beautifully pure, intense, well-built and polished to a degree I don't think I have ever come across. Too beautiful.

    Only things I don't understand:
    - Blinded, how to recognize this as a CF?
    - When will it be at the top of its game?

2 btls to go and 10 years is the trampoline I'm looking at. But, trend says they're both gone before summer strikes the Northern hemisphere…

  • Fortunately this vintage gives a little bit less 'wood' than their 2008, but still the wood is too dominant over the fruit (which is present). This doesn't have a lot of typical Cabernet Franc typicity, but much more Bordeaux characteristics.

  • Full and dark fruited, layered, spices, luckily just sufficient acidity. Wood influence is initially under control. After getting some air the woods do emerge, balancing on the verge of being overdone. A better showing than the 2008, luckily. But QPR still far from OK. This totally does not qualify as elegant in my book.

  • Wanted to wait 7 years more for the next btl, but only managed a measley 3 months.

    This is a superb wine🍷
Early and young. Beautiful and should have a lot more to give.
