This is tense and coiled on the palate, extremely mineral and refreshing, with a bit of reduction. The structure is flawless, building on layers of stone, mineral and citrus, only to reveal hints of tropical fruit after some time in the glass. This is a wine built to age, and nowhere near its peak. Long finish. Excellent. |

The intensity of the nose manifests also on the palate, with the addition of a strong mineral core and acidity. Great definition in the mouth, precise and full, ending in a very long finish. |

Don't pay much attention to my "score" here- as with my recent experience with Mugneret-Gibourg, this price point isn't something I engage with often in wine, and so I can't easily compare it to similarly-valued offerings (especially with the secondary market at play); what's more, even just considering the amazing quality of the wine alone, it DEFINITELY needs at least a few more years to blossom, in my opinion, to be worth the price of admission. |

Very similar to what happens when you leave a bottle in the food fridge for too long - kills any primary or otherwise wafty aromas (was expecting honey, butter popcorn, and hazelnut here). Left a tart and acidic body as well. Will just say that I’m not convinced this bottle wasn’t fake - there were bits of cork in the bottle despite a fully intact cork and I had a nasty inflammatory reaction the next morning… |

Aged white burg at its finest from 02 Charmes, still incredibly youthful and vibrant with captivating aromatics of spiced orchard fruit, toasted hazelnuts and butterscotch that comes in waves, and the palate is expansive, textural and stunningly complex, both rich and refined with a silky, crystalline mineral finish. Amazing wine. |
