5/3/2024 - mattym19 Likes this wine: 90 pointsOpen in the bottle for a couple of hours. Nose is pretty shy, maybe a hint of white pepper and red juicy raspberries with something vaguely leafy. Maybe wild strawberries? Some forest herb? Hard to tell. Anyway, palate is much more expressive: it has a concentration that for me reads almost umami; the same thing I get in good Grenache from the southern Rhône. But it’s also totally exuberant with perfect summer berries, a peppercorn spice, great, crystalline acidity and lift with a long grippy finish. It feels strong but weightless at the same time. Good stuff, man. |

4/30/2024 - Vinumming & Ahhing wrote: 88 pointsReading Offline #1 - Alino's Thames Lido Dinner - Mixed Whites and Reds (The Thames Lido, Reading): Served blind. Nose a little funky on pouring, some stink / brettiness veering into the fecal / mousy. Some air mercifully nudges this in the right direction. There is some strawberry fruit and some hints of fudgey sweetness. Palate is correct and cool fruited. The grenache character really comes to the fore with air. I guessed Spain because it reminded me of the Envinate but not Commando G although think I have tried a few of their wines in the dim and distant past. |

4/18/2024 - yorkch Likes this wine: 89 pointsOn opening, I smelt acetate and was worried that the bottle was fatally flawed. Thankfully this blew off after 20 minutes and was replaced by beautifully cherry aromas and taste. I felt that I’d struggle to place this as Garnacha if I tasted it blind, so much did it remind me of a Pinot Noir (perhaps Cotes de Beaune?) undoubtedly it’s ready to drink now but it’ll be interesting to see how this develops over the next 5 years + |

4/7/2024 - ethanwade Likes this wine: NRWarm garnet color with faint amber bricking. On the nose it is very reductive with some ripe strawberry. The palate is more open with ripe strawberry, dusty garrigue and some damp earth/barnyard flavors. This opens up to a fairly soft midpalate but finishes with tremendous tension from loads of built up tannin and acidity. Unique wine with real finesse and sense of place. |

Perhaps this wine needs time in the cellar to come together. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still juicy and enjoyable but slightly out of balance today. I will hold my remaining bottles for at least a few years. |
