2020 Dureuil-Janthial Rully En Guesnes WadanaPinot Noir more |
4/9/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRDecanted (into Voss). It must've been almost 3+hrs before we came to this (and final flight) wine. Served (blind) beside a pair of '21 Lamarch Suchots & Chaumes (also blind). This sure made an impressive entrance. The bouquet was one with dark-primary fruits, "high-class" oak and spices... but it was really what followed next that was rather stunning. Waves after waves of blue-black berry fruit encased in a velvety shell hit the palate. This was power, concentration amplified, but yet maintained a nice balance/freshness without becoming overbearing. Dinner companions guessed Grand-Cru. The Wadana sure overshadowed the 2 Lamarche, leaving them in the shade... Can't wait to see how this develops with time/cellar age! |

4/9/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRBlinded. Coming after the Dandelion, this immediately established/discerned itself as the more tradition, serious wine. A wine of refinement. Beautiful notes of cherries, strawberries mixed with spice (and just bits of oak) rose from the glass with a few swirls. Silky, velvety & layered mouthfeel, this was red-fruit driven with a nice weight/depth. Very nice & delicious. This will continue to keep & should improve even further with more age. |

4/9/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRBlinded. What a coincidence when it was eventually unveiled. I was just looking/searching for Dandelion wines (to buy/try) when this turned up at our dinner! Attractive aromas (to me), in the whole-bunch, nature-ish style done right - roses, violets, cherries mixed with incense, this was outright beautiful. Tasty, elegant, fresh, with more cherries on the palate. This was lovely. Can't wait to try another of Dandelion's wines again! |

4/26/2024 - Povilas Likes this wine: 91 pointsStill alive and kicking. Needed 3 hours in the decanter to open fully. Nose of dried cherry, dried flowers, mushroom, forest floor and old wood. High acidity on the palate, still some tannins that are bit dry. Sweetish dry cherry on the finish. Acidity has integrated better and fruit was more present on the second day. |

4/26/2024 - Paschap Likes this wine: 88 pointsСветлый гранатовый цвет, прозрачное. В аромате красные ягоды, морс, лавровый лист, гвоздика, чуть ваниль, железо, шерсть. Во вкусе среднее тело, высокая кислотность, слабые танины, солоноватое. 88/100 |

4/26/2024 - ylkim30 Likes this wine: NREarthy, forest-floor pinot funk on the nose. The palate has red fruit, herbs, bright acidity, a very delicate weight on the palate, good acidity, and the barest hint of grip (tannins are smooth and not drying at all). Not the most complex palate, but a very drinkable, enjoyable Pinot Noir. |

4/26/2024 - bordeauxman777 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis wine is a monster in the most flattering sense! At the age of 10, it exudes tremendous poise and boasts a rock-solid structure. Its fading color should not deceive you; this intrinsic Nuits Saint Georges has a brave future ahead. I once stood in the cellars of Domaine Chevillon, savoring samples of an another vintage, and this wine transports me back to those caves with the swoosh of a magic wand. In unforeseen time, it might stand among the best modern Burgundies ever crafted. I sincerely hope to live long enough to express, with decades of enthusiasm held back, 'Oh, how lovely! |

4/5/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRRSV/Richebourg dinner - this was no doubt very young. Bouquet of spice, sandalwood, cherry liquor. Weighty, concentrated on palate with blue/dark fruits. Layered. Will certainly improve with more years on it! |

4/26/2024 - DougLee wrote: 93 pointsMedium ruby. Healthy nose of sharp red berry, heady high pitched violets, earth, damp cellar. Layers of youthful delicious raspberry, holiday spices, fine iron shards, hints of oak, fine earth on the satiny palate. Fresh acidity and firm but fine-grained tannin. Long finish of lifted red berry, iron flecks, and tart bramble. Already delicious, this wine is stacked for future glories. Opened to celebrate L’s 75th. |

4/5/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRRSV/Richebourg dinner - a contrary to the '14 Hudelot RSV, this was ready for business! Violets, spice & tea dominated the bouquet. More tea on the palate. Nice finish! |

4/5/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRRSV/Richebourg dinner - came across as more structured than the '08 Hudelot Riche. Smoke, blood & wood on the nose; Powerful on the palate but still felt a tad closed. Should be much better with more age... |

4/5/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRRSV/Richebourg dinner - this was nice! Floral (violets); Spice, smoke/incense spouted from glass without much coaxing. Cherries on palate, pure & lifted. Delicious! Will still improve with more cellar age... |

4/26/2024 - zscheiner wrote: NRDecanted for a tiny bit of sediment. Pretty nose that leaps from the glass, deep red cherries. The fruit carries over on the palate, a little deeper and slightly baked age, but there’s still nice supporting acidity. Some baking spices but no tertiary complexity yet, will be looking for that in 5+ years. |

4/26/2024 - rosenst1 wrote: 91 pointsPnP - perfect cork and fill. Medium red with browning on the edge. First night this was almost undrinkable - intense mineral very tannic and drying on the finish. Magically transformed on day 2 (stored in fridge, corked). Lovely cherry flavors with mineral underpinnings and just a slight drying finish. Quite impressive as Corton often is, but a challenge. Not sure where this goes from here but better vintages of this wine could live for decades. |

4/5/2024 - etyc Likes this wine: NRRSV/Richebourg dinner - Friend brought this as a ringer (an additional btl). So ironic that most declared this as WOTN. This was just in the right zone, with age/fruits. Pretty, elegant, lifted but also had good concentration & layers on the palate. Well done, but quite a mockery to the R&R theme! 😂 |

Bouquet fared better though, with smoke, incense & tea. Hope it'll improve with more age. The younger Poisot RSVs (eg. '17) seem much more attractive... |
