  • RSV/Richebourg dinner - Friend brought this as a ringer (an additional btl). So ironic that most declared this as WOTN. This was just in the right zone, with age/fruits. Pretty, elegant, lifted but also had good concentration & layers on the palate. Well done, but quite a mockery to the R&R theme! 😂

  • Great stemmy, leafy notes, complex. Cool vintage profile. masculine but not rustic. Complex aromas of red fruit, cured meat, animalic elements.

  • my note from a month ago was mostly applicable... this wine was loved by the four drinkers... seemed to be a little more full bodied than my last note implied, but was definitely more elegant / light bodied than you would expected from a two decade Pommard... and that is a complement... really a very very nice drink and I would say decent to good QPR for this bottle (at $147 including tax and shipping, purchased in 2020)

  • a fine old red burg, with elegance and brightness, med-minus on the body (which I don't mind at all)... in some ways reminded me of '07 but also had more complexity that many of those btls I'm tasting now... good spice, needed every bit of the decant (fours hours in the afternoon, then back in bottle for two more before drinking)... lovely and worth the $140 that I paid for it... but not a screaming QPR

  • 2.5 hours decant. CORK was a bit touch and go with some seepage. This really took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting much from this, but true to form when burgundy is on it is really on. COLOR was medium light with white halo. The NOSE was absolutely delicious, it really drew the nose in to the glass. Powerful classic pommard profile. Really spectacular PALATE, big but not over the top. Ripe and meaty flavours, masses of dark cherries with soft and lush TANNINS. Just was you'd expect from a pommard. This wine had some real class and totally smoked some other burgs I've had at twice the price!
Drink up soon, most probably at its peak.

(de Courcel Pommard Clos des Epenots) Medium-plus cherry with purple hints. High toned nose has flowers and fruits. Wow, extra strong tannin and high acid, like a top Grand Cru in stature if not quite fineness. The fruit is definitely a match though. This is excellent.
