13% alcohol. Long cork of acceptable quality. Pale translucent colour.
There was a slight reductive touch when opening the bottle 30mn before the meal, but this was gone when the tasting began. Lovely red cherries on the nose Delicate but by no means insubstantial in the mouth with great purity and good mouthfeel; more red cherry. Plenty of depth here; this wine exemplifies again the difference between intensity and concentration.
Highly enjoyable.

Smoked meat and floral nose, dusty prune taste, a little too sweet and a little less powerful for my taste though. Many greater wines for the same price, including other amarones.

Pale straw in color, with notes of apple, oak, and vanilla on the nose, this tastes of peach, apricot, Golden Delicious apple, and pear. A medium body with nice acidity, good fruit, and a decent finish. Smooth, balanced, elegant. Nicely done.

Ensamblaje de Marsanne y Roussanne. Amarillo brillante.

Good wine, classy streaks evident but considering market price is around $50 feel fully priced. Dry, sinewy, some oak. Has claims but primary fruit needs to show more staying power to be a contender amongst peers.

Light honeyed appearance. Decanted and drunk over 4 hours or so. Initial nose of freshly cut grass, green olive brine, sea spray. Lots of mineral notes. Tea like tannins and a firm but not overbearing line of acid tie everything up. Hours 3-4 and things are really humming. Wet stones, olive oil, quince, ripe pear & nougat with a saline backbone. Finish is long. Excellent drinking.

Deep and brooding, needs time to open up, feels a bit alcoholic, dark cherry, earth, soft tannins. Not my preferred style.

After a 5-hour decant: somewhat thin, and with a short finish. Time may improve these, but so far, they have been disappointing, given the cost.

Medium red. Some deposit. Nose of red cherries, herbs, amphora lift and complexity. Lavender. Wonderful and most unusual.
Palate is sweet red cherries, lighter style, quite acid but not overly so. Would it have been better drunk young? The pundits thought so.
I’m going to keep my last bottle for some time to see what it does. I’m quite curious about it. Beautifully pure and clean for a complex, long winemaking process - 180 days on skins in beeswax lined amphorae…

White
High acidity, very fresh style, peach, lemon, white flowers, elegant use of oak, yellow apple, very good. My last bottle of this vintage.
Red
Sweet raisin and blackberry; coarse; sweet balanced finish.

Quite open, rich and spicy with a lovely local feel, that transfers you to the Southern France. More straight forward the the Tempier and with slightly less depth, this remains a great, great rosé that will certainly age well.

Mature cerise.
Smoke, heady florals, roses, a trace of violets, savoury, charcuterie-type elements, but predominantly a smoky, BBQ meats type proposition on the nose, with some intriguing herbaceous notes like tarragon and wormwood.
Weightless but very Barolo-like on the palate, bold, masculine, roses, intensely saline, and really sliding into secondary with inky, dark soy elements and intensely savoury, with bright, freshening acidity. Very fine background tannin.
Quite a contrast to the style I purchase nowadays, a bottle I picked up 10 years ago when first exploring Burgundy, but very enjoyable and appears to be getting close to a perfect place.

Excellent fill level
Long single piece cork
Sieving recommended.
Tasted over 3h undecanted.

V: dark red, high opacity.
N: slightly stewed fruit aromas, a bit spirity.
P: the mouthfeel is plush, with very little tannic grip. finish is hollow, some bitterness and alcoholic heat.

Overall, out of balance between over-ripeness and the expected flavour intensity. I’ve had many vintages of this wine and this is a weaker vintage.

Drink or hold, limited upside anticipated.

Varietally labelling "Cabernet-Sauvignon" at Bordeaux is unusual (only the back label states AOP Bordeaux but in quite small print). I bought this out of curiosity after reading about "new style" Bordeaux and noting in the seller's literature a RVF rating of 15/20 (they use the 100 point scale in their monthly magazine and annual guide!). I don't get the high rating. It is medium bodied with lively quite savoury berry fruit, an earthy touch, decent acidity and an after-taste of tar which reminds me of some Cahors, although I doubt if there is any Malbec here. Agreeable drinking in a rather austere but invigorating mode. Quite good.

This wine is my archilles heel. I chanced upon their youtube video and i was really impressed by the entire short documentary. And the fact ferregamo bought it, the fact they got 99 points by JS plus its situated on a majestic mountaintop. I rem as i poured out the wine, i remember a nice swirling consistentence and a colour that beams. But alas as i took the first gulp and then second gulp, i was abit taken aback that the taste really came across as just normal…. Nothing out of the spectrum and i wasn’t floored by the experience and needless to say i struggled with understanding how it got 99 points? Not here to throw rocks because i actually bought 4 more bottles of 2015 and 3 more 2016 subsequently to probably convince myself otherwise? Hence i am curious does anyone have any similar experience like me? Or what am i actually missing out?

Deutet großes Potential an.

Blind. Served third in what turns out to be a VCC vertical. A dense ruby to dark garnet. As with its siblings tonight the colour is dense and more opaque still with little of the vibrant translucence that can come with maturity. This feels the most harmonious of the three, the structural elements nicely countered by reasonably dense if not plush fruit. Some spice and middle age development. Lovely. Another good 02. I think what’s in the glass here is better on paper than the 01 alongside, but I prefer the slightly more quirky 01, even if it’s not quite as it should/could be. ****

It is a mingling effect (Mingles , Seoul): By the glass as part of their signature pairing at Mingles , Seoul.
Old school, classic , touch rustic in a way but all the classic elements are here and works very well. Rich, dry nuts and fruits, balsamic. Oxidative of course and touch sharp as all malvasias should be. 91

Blind. Mid to full garnet with a hint of dense ruby at the core. When I had these a decade older I thought this might be 89. Compared to a bottle in late 2021 this is quite evolved and less vibrantly, joyously fruited. Fruit profile perhaps a little diffuse. A slightly curious lactic note not dissimilar to that on a recent 04 initially, then this seems to clear. What turns out to be the 02 alongside seems to be getting the love, and I can see why, but as this 01 opens and evolves in the glass I have a soft spot for the slightly redder fruit, silkier texture and brighter acidity. Not a top bottle of this though, however lovely. ****
