3/11/24, 2:30 AM - Yes I suspect poor storage.
3/7/24, 6:23 AM - I was at the press tasting this week. Just looking at your notes from 67 PM - sounds like an incredible evening.
11/7/23, 7:06 AM - Sounds like a bargain. I might stock up for Christmas. Thank for the tip!
11/30/22, 12:04 AM - Thanks, will amend. I very rare try American wines and as you can see, I am extremely ignorant about them.
12/24/21, 1:47 AM - Something like slow-cooked shoulder of lamb with lots of garlic, rosemary and spices.
11/7/21, 11:48 PM - I have a bottle of the Vecchia 2018 - I will follow your advice. Thank you!
10/30/20, 12:32 AM - You’re right. It is £15. So not such great value but it’s still a very nice drop.
7/1/20, 1:09 AM - I'd probably wait a year or two if I had a few bottles but by no means inaccessible now.
2/2/20, 6:03 AM - Ah my mistake. Ticked that box by mistake.
12/10/19, 1:36 AM - It's probably worth it for the money though I'd rather buy the Tesco own label Grand Cru NV.
7/6/18, 7:52 AM - I've never really got to grips with the exactitude of the 100 point system. I tend to use 20 points or best of all 3 ticks but really only for my own use.
2/18/18, 12:08 PM - I didn't make it to the 2016 en primeurs but I hear from Rhone experts that it's even better than 2015.
2/19/18, 12:18 AM - I was very tempted by Wine Soc Rhone offer but we're rather over stocked on Rhone so drinking our way through older wines.
2/7/18, 12:28 AM - It's down to £10.99 now though I had a bottle the other day and it really wasn't that great.
11/2/17, 2:08 PM - That is interesting. I can quite understand why they may not be pleased.
6/16/17, 2:52 AM - 14% alcohol though doesn't taste that strong
6/10/17, 11:54 AM - Oh yes, it's lovely.
5/5/17, 3:09 PM - £100 a bottle!
5/5/17, 6:13 AM - Tried this again recently. Actually very nice - rich and toasty with a long finish
3/18/17, 12:03 PM - Drinking this tonight. Really superb, so fresh and fruity.
3/24/17, 6:15 AM - That is a shame. It's a remarkably good wine for the money.
1/28/17, 2:53 AM - Well I see Julia has written from 2016. I'd broach a bottle now with a proper decant and some appropriately hearty food.
1/17/17, 11:20 AM - I'm assuming you tried this at the Chateau, right?
1/18/17, 12:29 AM - Lucky you
1/3/17, 1:22 PM - I didn't put the picture up but you are right it is for the wrong wine. The one I had was Parcelas de Graciano 14 Link here to the right wine: http://eatspaindrinkspain.com/wines/altos-ib%C3%A9ricos-parcelas-de-graciano-2014
12/26/16, 2:15 AM - Tasting much much better now, bright red fruit and some forest floor notes, very pure and delicious. I decanted it for a couple of hours.
12/23/16, 10:57 AM - Had another bottle of this last week. Absolutely superb as well. And I don't think it's at its peak.
9/16/16, 6:53 AM - I tried the 20. Not sure about your one though everything I tried from this producer was excellent so even if it's not as old, it's probably going to be good.
9/16/16, 7:50 AM - Not had those vintages from Castarede but have had 86s from other producers and they have been sublime. Might be worth checking out.
2/11/16, 3:24 AM - I don't think there is any hurry to drink it. There's plenty of fruit and the tannins are still a little hard. Peak, if you like youthful fruit, probably in a couple of years, but I think up to five is safe.
12/25/15, 8:38 AM - Next day, beautiful nose, classes mature claret noseStrong acidity and a bit lacking in fruitNice and mature, clearly excellent quality but a little mean
11/22/15, 10:19 AM - I'm not sure I would decant. I'd just serve with something like roast lamb and enjoy those tannins.
10/4/15, 8:50 AM - Yes, it's here on BBR site http://www.bbr.com/products-30952-2014-sauvignon-blanc-ii-von-winning-pfalzWe have high taxes on wine in Britain.
8/21/15, 11:19 AM - This this again 21/8/15sweet, lots of raspberries, a bit confectedstill not terribly keen
6/13/15, 8:39 AM - You're right. Criminal to drink it so young but as I was offered by Robert Hill-Smith from Yalumba, I felt I couldn't say no.
11/1/14, 1:19 PM - I think it needs a couple of years to open up and then from there I'd say about ten years though rioja reservas do tend to last well so it may well be longer. I'm not an expert though.
7/23/14, 1:47 AM - In England QPR is a football club, Queen's Park Rangers.
6/1/14, 12:56 AM - I'd love to open a bottle in 2 years to see how it has developed but I thought it was pretty much perfect now: lovely balance between youthful fruit and mature notes and tannins yielding but still with some grip. I suppose it depends on how you like your claret.
5/13/14, 2:20 PM - I am no expert but you'll have no problems with five years. I'd drink it in five years. I don't think ten will be a problem either, this is a serious wine, but I wouldn't wait that long.
4/16/14, 1:33 AM - If you read my notes for other Portuguese wines, you'll find that they are some of my favourite wines. Also very keen on Rioja and Ribera del Duero (as you'll see from reading my tasting notes.) I liked this particular wine as you can see from the fact that I ticked the 'I like this wine' box. I think you might be a bit mad.
4/17/14, 12:16 AM - Tannic & grippy means it's young. I'd suggest either waiting to drink it or decanting and don't drink it on its own. It doesn't mean I don't like it. I write these notes as a shorthand for myself. They can be a little terse but if I tick, 'I like this wine', it's a good sign that I found it enjoyable.
1/1/14, 9:41 AM - Perhaps should have been more specific. It smelts of oranges. I find a lot of 'natural' style wines especially syrahs have this sort of smell and taste whether they come from SA, the Rhone or California. They're very light in tannin and body.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
