5 years since we tried this last (Papies 90) and framed vs older and mature wines ( Ex Votto 2005, Bouchard Perrieres 2005) this shown with a fresh feel, light honey touches and still a light touch of oak. Energetic still and bright albeit showing age and softening up. Ripe yellow fruits, light mineral, a bit fatty too but with a good core. In a very good place now and with a few year to go. If like us one likes their whites a bit fresher this is the time for this wine. 92

Beef and Vosne (Holland Park): A nice start to the dinner. This had a nice nose of butter and cream floating around ripe yellow fruited notes, and then just a hint of Leflaive’s smoky, oyster shell flintiness. Very nice, and quite distinctly Meursault. The palate was lovely too. Sweet and ripe, as one would expect from the vintage, with notes of pineapple amongst stone fruited flavours, all this packed together very nicely with a surprising amount of citrussy acidity that lifted it into a long, chalky, quite classically Leflaive finish. Not brilliant - this was just a bit blowsier and well-cut than usual - but this was a very solidly good wine.

A private tasting (Restaurant Vineum, Rotterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Fuller colour, nutty and rounded and supple, slightly lactic and meaty, feels unhinged, full but lacks freshness, tight and dry, but with a slightly alcoholic finish.

Had this with egg, polenta and white truffles at Oustalet in Gigondas and it's a great match. Great purity and clarity, STGT wine. The fat and rich texture of Meursault is showing through underpinned by a wonderful earthiness and marks of citrus. Drinks very well now.

Steinersing summarises this v well. Tried along side a great Californian Chard and it showed that is a v different wine. Mineral and structure. I will drink one a year for the next 3 years

Sweet lemon note with mineral stony smell. Same with the taste & a little popcorn note too. Nice Meursault with the 'buttery' in the back...A non US- style Chardonnay. Though I also like that style.... I will not put these wines away , but drink them now with the freshness still there.

Fruit basket glory and heavenly aromatics especially after an hour after opening (bottle on table not on ice), and the perfect minerality is matched by increasing complexity on every sniff and sip.

Round, creamy and rich this is a middle weight champion, orange, lemon and toasted nuts infuse apples and white peach for a delicious finish and elegant all night minerality.

Domaine Leflaive Masterclass with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): Light golden in colour. The nose has a light buttery feel, citrus, ripe fruit and oaky character at this stage. Definitely on the young side. On the palate its of proper Meursault weight and depth. A touch shy, restrained at this stage almost closed down. The energy is there but the complexity is not. its a 90 from us at this stage but with a lot of potential for the future.

Focused nose with ripe stone fruit, citrus, hazelnuts, honeysuckle and evident new oak. Creamy and mineral at the same time with bright acidity and medium full body and alcohol. A wine with depth and personality.

Domaine Leflaive Vintners' Dinner (Imperial Treasure @ Great World City): The nose is really complex and expansive with light touch of honey at the core accompany by cold herbs and spices, pear and red apple. Vibrant and discreet with a little bit of fatness on the mid palate that resulted in very good mid palate sap and depth. Sexy! The finished is long and complex with good energy and light spicy grip. This has very bright future. 90-91+

Light yellow; intense buttery nose; deep, smooth, round, flavoury, well balanced, well structured; long long aftertaste; very good indeed and surprisingly good given its young age

Ren och snygg samtidigt som den har en väldigt fet och stor textur. Citrus, apelsin och massor av mineral.

WineFest in Toronto (Mike Grammer); 7/10/2016-7/12/2016 (Mike Grammer's (parents home) in Toronto): A bit sweaty on the nose. slightly flat in terms of acidity. Good fruit though. Orange juice and lemons on the palate. A bit of complexity. Very enjoyable with what was a few hours of air.

The Godfather Turns Sixty: Go Big or Go Home - Rousseau, Margaux, Lynch, a Trio '02 Champagnes and More! (La Belle Vie, Mpls): Light gold color. 70ml pour over an hour. This too was quite toasty on the nose and palate, a bit of matchstick character, hazelnut, a touch of earth and funk, lemon, orange peel on the nose and palate; long and with great personality and focus. 92+pts.
