A lot of honey, flowers and fruit but these overpowering the spice and acidity. A little alcohol on the end. would have been better a few years back likely. Still not a tasty gewurtz, if a bit long in the tooth.

I should have finished these a few years ago when they were hitting on all cylinders. This still has a fairly powerful nose of spice and florals, but the palate was considerably lacking. Drink up.

Lychee, melon and floral qualities. Nright acidity on the palate; lively and focused- not as rich or heavy as some Gewurtraminers can be. Loads of Gewurtz spice on the finish. There's a slight sharp quality on the finish that I find distracting.

Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor typical of the grape, combining lychee nuts and grapefruit. Better that the previous bottle with more definition and depth. Pleasant if not exciting.

Likable nose, medium body, medium acidity. Full with herbal notes, spice, pear and lychee. Dependable, as always. An everyday Gewurz, albeit a very good one.

Amarillo intenso y brillante en copa, transparente. Excelente carga floral, especias con destellos de mineralidad, melocotón y manzana verde. Sedoso y cremoso en boca con buena carga ácida pero con esa mezcla dulce que distingue esta uva. Postgusto mediano. Excelente para parearlo con crustáceos o suchi. Año 2009.

While I'll admit this isn't my favorite varietal, I enjoyed this version with its pleasant flavors of tangerine, lychee and lemon peel, with a mineral-tinged finish

Third time I've had this in the last 45 days. This bottle keeps morphing on me as this one had similar notes as last two bottles, but also had floral notes that surprised me. Very nice.

Fruit-forward bartlett pear nose, with loads of freshly cut pear and apple on the palate. Framed by good acidity, and a smoky note on the finish brings depth.

Bummer. The nose starts nice with calendula and floral soapy notes but reveals heavy tones of rubbing alcohol and petrol. Taste is very bitter...dried out orange rind. Disappointing because I've had it cellared perfectly for a year since purchased at retail and expected more. Flawed perhaps.

CWM dinner at Thai Cuisine. Second night in a row with this wine, but this time with Thai food. I thought this was actually better without the food. Notes of lychee and spice and a hint of smoke on the back end.
Trimbach tasting at Binny's. Lovely spice and melon on the nose and palate. A bit of a chalky finish and nice balance. Bought four bottles after tasting.

Nose - grapey, lychee, aromatic Mouth - crisp, yet followed by a very bitter aftertaste. I can see the spice, but mostly I'm getting musk. Bought at a restaurant to pair with Thai. Overall I think it went well but I am not a big fan of this varietal

pale lemon color. On the nose, the wine has a med+ intensity and aromas of lychee, honey, sweet citrus, minerality. On the palate, the wine is Med+/high in alcohol (long length), full bodied, with med flavor intensity. The wine is very good. Drink now, will not age (not enough acidity).

Silky and 'oily' nose of lychee, honeydew and spring flowers. Light bodied with high acidity. Dry though the bright fruit and floral elements make it appear off dry. Fresh melon with hints of pineapples and chalk on the palate. Short length. Agree with a previous reviewer re serving temperatures - better when well chilled.

The smell: apple blossom; white apple; acacia and linden blossom; mandarin; pineapple; slightly mineral. The taste: yellow grapes; a surface of old photographic paper; white honey; spices.

Limpid pale green color. A classic Gewürz nose of honey, flower bouquet, Asian spice, lychee, pear, perfume and rosewater - but in a more restrained style than is typical for this variety; hard to say whether this is just because of the cool drinking temperature or because of the wine's style or vintage. Quite rich and somewhat heavy in the mouth. Pronounced Gewürz flavors of rosewater, floral perfume and roasted spices, but also lots of fruit to balance it out: pear, lychee, marmalade candies. Medium-to-high-ish acidity - which is really a lot for a 2009 Gewürztraminer - but still a bit too full-bodied and heavy for my tastes, making the wine appear a bit too lacklustre. Alcohol shows a bit. Long and characterful finish, which is a bit drier than the midpalate, that came across slightly sweet. Flavors of roasted spices, pear, rosewater and faint steely minerality in the aftertaste.
A surprisingly good Gewürztraminer - lacks the rough spiciness of the most dry Gewürztraminers and has more pronounced acidity and structure than most of the wines made from this unique variety. The fruit and the spice sides are perfectly in balance and there seems to be not a single gram of excessive residual sugar. However, the wine still seems to suffer from the hot vintage: the acidity could be a little more obvious and vice versa for the alcohol. A wine to be enjoyed young; I really can't see the wine gaining any more balance with age. Not the best example of the elegant and positively austere style of Trimbach. Still lovely, well-made Gewurztraminer and worth its price at 16,11€.

Day 1: Not very expressive, lazy to the nose showing some herbal notes nothing very exciting. Palate just an ordinary white wine. Day 2: Peaches and berries came out of the bottle straight to the nose, you gotta serve it chilled to really enjoy this wine....big difference!

Another beauty from Alsace, if not displaying just a touch of alcohol on the finish. A flowery nose that delivers a soft and rounded feel on the palate. Gotta love these Alsatian whites. Enjoy.

The fruit is delicate and would be very enjoyable if it was not for 14% alcohol, which it can't stand up to. Mostly hot.
