I have not had this wine in years, but used to enjoy it quite a bit. This bottle--not so much. Seems to be over-the-hill with a bit of oxidation obscuring the fruit and not much else. I am hoping that this is just a case of a wine that I should have opened 2-3 years earlier.

Dark ruby turning crimson at the rim with a nose of ripe dark berries, tobacco and espresso. The palate is rich, juicy with an excellent tannic grip. It's full-bodied with a velvety texture. Flavors of currant, ripe blackberry, mocha and cigar box form the core. Finishes long and juicy with notes of spice. Delicious and easy to drink. This is great with most Italian hearty dishes or on its own. Drink now until 2019.

Tasty, although not especially complex. Lovely floral nose. Medium bodied, with soft cherry and a light bitter almond/fruit pit note on the back end. Shortish finish. This would be a good summer red.

A kicking mix of sour and dark cherries on the nose, along with some dusty earth, tobacco and roasted coffee. Firm tannins for structure, and the acid keeps it clean. The sour cherry and red currant fruit is tangy and delicious, backed up by roasted herbs, prune, violets and rich coffee. Rich and velvety, but the focus to this wine is impressive. It will have even more to show in two to four years. 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Sangiovese.

An interesting wine, this is not a Ripasso. It is made by blending a Valpolicella blend with 20% or so raisinated grapes which would otherwise go into an Amarone-style wine. The nose is clean, with black and red fruit, forest floor and some sweet spice. The palate is dry but fruit-forward. It is still very youthful, with medium (+) acidity, and tannins. It is medium-bodied, with medium intensity and a medium long finish. Good by itself but really more of a food wine. It would benefit from a decant or from a couple more years of ageing. A good value at under $20.00

Pop and pour. There's sangiovese-like humid earthy smell at first and then developed very strong orchid aroma in the next few hours. Nice fruity cherry and raspberry taste. Balanced sweetness and acidity. More attractive than some amarone in my view, of course the body was just medium, a bit weak compared to its fruitiness and aroma.

Solid wine, very tannic and a bit metallic when it was first opened. After 45 minutes to 1 hour it opened up with nice mix of black, blue and red fruits, nice earthy middle, lower acidity. The tannins softed a bit after a while, but they were still a bit intense so I recommend food.

The nose hints at the heritage with both fruit and soil coming through. Tannins immediately coat the palate and remain throughout the long finish. Plum, cherry and sweet blackberries blend with earthy flavors. Not particularly complex, but a very enjoyable wine.

Unusual wine. Tastes like oranges mixed with raisins. Cedar and leather nose. The finish is lasting but the aroma and taste stays constant. Were I to do over I would drink with rich meat sauce or dessert rather than veal.

A Valpollicella in disguise, steady and reliable pleasure for value, by that s not to say to overlook the independent merits of this well made and rewarding wine. Fine muted fruit and soft tannins. Raspberries and leather, with good acidity and a medium finish.

Needs to breath about 30 minutes or so. Great taste with lots of depth, but minimal complexity. The flavor profile is a cross between a good Chateauneuf du Pape and a Beaujolais from Brouilly. Nice purple red color, no nose. This is my first Palazzo della Toree so I can't compare it to others. My rating might be a push by a point or two, but I really like this wine.

Dark purple in color. Dense. Fresh Mint. Redcurrants, Cherries and traces of plums. Forrest-like and dusty characters. Some Vanilla and Coffee. Tight and elegant nose, which is clearly dominated by mint. Plums and overripe dark berries. Some Raisins and Eucalypt. Finishes medium-long with smooth tannins. Cloves and some Pepper. Black cherry, vanilla, plum among the light aromas in the glass. Palate had medium body, started with the same somewhat sweeter flavors of the nose, followed by a tart fruitiness and a 10 second finish. Smooth tannins. Decent wine, though I've had quite a bit better for the same price. Would have liked heavier body and more depth/length to the sweeter flavors, which I've found in some Valpolicella Superiore before (not just Ripasso).
