Slightly disappointed, had expected more. A very good glass nevertheless, just a bit less development than expected; sweet tabacco, dark cherries, vanille, licorice, black currant, cooked blackberry, smokiness. Medium bodied, soft medium tannins, medium+ acidity and long finish

Appalling bouquet with dark cherry, cassis, liquorice and vanilla. Medium-bodied, medium-high alcohol, integrated tannins, medium acidity, dry. On the palate, lots of ripe cherry, balanced and juicy and a long finish. High quality, drinking very well at the moment.

Lots of cassis and blue fruits with vanilla and light oak at first. Punchy acidity, medium tannins that weave in and out on the palate...this wine is lithe and fun. Secondary notes of mulberry and other interesting, less common red and black fruits. Tertiary hints of bramble and blackberry, though this Tempranillo is much more refined and not a briar patch like some I've had. Evolves in the glass, needs at least 15-20 minutes to start opening up, though an hour might be ideal right now.

Day1: big, spicy and quite long finish. Dominated by oak and vanilla. Decanted about 60 min
Day2: it came together. The oak is now integrated and ripe plums, dark cherries show followed by cedar and other good stuff. Soft tannins that are well integrated. Quite sweet. Lack some acidity to really lift off and feel like a rioja for the long haul.

From magnum, decanted for a good hour and very much needed. Dark in colour, youthful and glossy, dark fruited, cherries light smoky, decent level of American oak here. Nice spicy edge, round yet firm tannin and very well made. Solid 91

Deep garnet with lighter rim, some clarity; deep meaty nose, young, perfumed, floral, deep dark cherry and currant not dissimilar to the Remirez di Ganuza wines tasted last Thursday (they sold some fruit to this producer), slight cedar and tobacco, sandy; lovely fruit on the palate, very pure, ripeness in check and nicely structured, smoky spicy finish, great mid, very noble; really nice wine that could use a couple years of cellaring to start showing its best.

Tasting Group Holiday Party (Grange, Mouton, Schrader, de Capo and more) (Trent's): This is very interesting. It is very young and needs time. Purple in color. The nose is dominated by oak and spice. Lots of dark cherry fruit as well. On the palate, there is plenty of dark cherry fruit but also firm tannins and fresh cut lumber. Some initial heat disappears quickly. I left my glass of this for later in the evening and it very much came together. My score is based on sitting in my glass for an hour or two. I would not touch this for five years if you are at all oak adverse. There is plenty of fruit though, so I would not worry about it.

Bottle no 02578, tasted at Oinoscent via Coravin. The color and nose are so dense and thick, filled with ripe red and black cherries, berries and currants, sweet oak, vanilla, sweet spices, clove and nutmeg, overextracted and slightly reductive. In the palate, the wine is less impressive, ripe red fruit again, fine oak, vanilla, med body and intensity, fine tannins, warm, extracted, med to long finish. Outstanding quality, drink now or hold. Can’t say I liked it that much as it is now

The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of dark plums, dark cherries, liquroice, cedar and hints of nail varnish remover. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. it has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of dark plums, dark cherries, liquroice and cedar. The finish is medium(+).
It is a very good quality wine. It has a nice fruit concentration and a quite decent finish, and it shows a very good overall balance among all structural elements. However it could be more complex. The wine is too young, it needs at least 1-2 years in the bottle, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more complex tertiary aromas over the next 5-8 years.
