Pale, crisp and steely. Quince and green apple notes, with hints of sweetness to make this enjoyable. Peach, melon, zingy acidity and overall class provided an enjoyable white experience.

Late to the Party Zoom (well, google) Tasting (Google Meet): Double blind tasting - guesses were all over the place, from riesling to ca chard. Interestingly nobody guess bordeaux blanc (though who would ever guess that?). Medium acidity, stone fruit, floral, no noticable alc despite the 14.2%. These Carlisle whites age nicely.

Nicely balanced. Refreshing acidity wih touch of stone fruit sweetness paired surprisingly well with Ethiopian food (Doro Wat, Misir Wat, Gomen Wat, Injera) and Indian preserved kaffir/makrut lime (92)

The wine pours a beautiful, deep golden color. On the nose, you get hints of melon, pear, and mineral in the background. On the palate, the wine coats the entire mouth and has a thick almost chewy consistency to it. You get flavors of citrus, pear flavor becomes more pronounced with a slight tartness to it. Overall it is an excellent, very refreshing wine and has an interesting blend of semillion, muscadelle, and palomino grape varieties.

Clear with a tinge of yellow. Fruity nose with peaches, apples, gooseberry and acacia flowers. Medium to light in body-perhaps the alcohol gives it some more mouthfeel compared to a lower percent wine. Entirely pleasant for warm spring evening.

Nicely perfumed, showing white flowers, honey, and peach on the nose. Palate is fairly big, with citrus oil, bitter citrus peel, peach, and some oxidative baked apple notes. Well balanced acid and mouth coating velvet texture, but as with all Carlisle whites I’ve had so far, the alcohol pokes through a bit leaving the impression of a bit of flab.

PnP. Initially a lot of different aspects to deal with. About 30 min of air and slight warming and this became an interesting, full wine. Fairly heavy, a lot of stone fruit. Clean, but not crisp finish.

Fun wine and very unique, much riper expression of Semillon than I am used to but I am sure the other blend contributed to the rich mouth feel. Honeyed yet dry expression of ripe yellow fruits with good balance and mineral tinge. Unctuous and while the aromatics were shy the flavors and texture came on strong If I had another bottle i would serve this with prosciutto & melon. We had this with home made squash ravioli fave beans and Parmesan & it was tasty. I am guessing this is a Drink now as this may not make for old bones.

Yellow plum in color. Deeply scented with a sturdy, structured palate, a wine built for some age. At almost four years, fresh and brimming with vibrant fruit, and lot is going on. Honey-scented, apples, apricots, toast, a little roasted almond, and an unctuous texture.
Tasted blind, I thought it close to a dry Riesling with the firm acidity and upwelling mineral/honeyed tones. In fact in searching the Carlisle website it is closer to a Chateau Pape Clement or Sauterne, consisting of 54/30/16 Semillion/Muscadelle/Palomina, grown in rather cool to moderate climate Sonoma areas (Monte Rosso/Pagani/Saitone).
Fabulous effort. Semillion seems so superior to Sauvignon Blanc in the hands of a great winemaker. Carlisle gives you terroir at no cost to beauty and sensuality. 5+13+18+7

Popped and poured, white gold with a subtle haze. Such an interesting nose...almost like Condrieu meets the Rhine, with honeyed stone fruits, ripe lime and tropical fruit notes accompanied by lovely florals, herbaceous undertones, minerals and subtle tinges of petrol. Medium-light body, moderate acidity, the flavors in-mouth perfectly matching and delivering upon most every aromatic promise. Delightfully flavored, invigoratingly fresh and playfully serious, this unique white blend will appeal to everyone and is drinking perfectly right now.

Nice, very textural, with a full mouthfeel and smooth, glycerin-y feel. Looking back at my notes maybe reminds me more of the 2010 version. The fruit that jumps out at me is pineapple. Medium acidity. Nothing out of balance but perhaps I would have liked this a bet better last year.

Old Vines Offline III (Mi Casa): This wine arrived just as we were shutting down the starters and was a great compliment to its predecessors. Citrus & melon, that blended well with a subtle green/mineral component-good acidity. Enjoyed with my aunt and uncle who were in from Chicago, and this went well with an excellent homemade Greek meal. Meaningful evening with family-always good therapy, and The Derivative made it that much better. I don't think I'd let this excellent white sit for too long, maybe a couple of years max. As usual, Carlisle keeps cranking out the nectar.

An interesting blend. I think the Semillon dominates with the lemon, apple, hay, fig, waxy aromas and flavors. Very floral on the nose, presumably from the Muscadelle. Not sure what the Palomino contributes - it is supposedly a fairly neutral, low acid grape. I suspect the high acidity here is somewhat added (citric acid), since none of these grapes are usually high in acidity. Nice body, balance and long tart finish. Crisp, refreshing, easy drinking.

Nose: Very interesting mix of hay straw, dust, and lemons. Also very subtle traces of herbs and minerals. Very nice nose. Palate: Good yet proper acidity very much like the 2010 with flavors of lemons and minerals. Perfectly balanced with a finish that goes on for about 30 seconds. This is just fantastic and is definitely in the mold of the 2010, but even better. In good years this wine could certainly be called America's white Graves. Great effort from Mike and Jay.

Well I didn't last a year and I didn't have to... either this has already unwound into a better place or I was being a curmudgeon in January, a great showing in any case. Complexity is found in the interplay of aromas and tastes of white fruits, straw, kiwi, and light citrus, all held up with a stony grip and good acid/body balance through the finish. Versatile and different. 91+

Contrary to some previous notes, I found this to be fairly lush and full-bodied. Nice golden apple and ripe lemon flavors with enough acidity not to be cloying. Reminded me a bit of a white Rhone blend.

I like this wine, but not as much as the two previous vintages, at least not within months of its release. More acidic and narrow with a more mineral, less green tea/floral nose. Much better as it warmed up in the glass. Still a well made eclectic blend, will try to hold the other bottle a year or more and see if it unwinds some.

This took over an hour (and more) to open up, and even then it just didn't have enough going for it, seeming more bland and acidic than elegant or powerful. Mineral, stone fruit, floral, spice. This paired well with salmon and brussels sprouts with bacon & balsamic. Just not my style -- too restrained.

Very very interesting. Apples, melons, get all that. But it somehow is not overly sweet. Its floral on the nose, not a full bouquet, but maybe one or two flowers, and then there is more than enough acid. A very sophisticated and enjoyable wine for the price. Certainly my value white of the winter. Well done.

There is an inherent hint of rich sweetness on the nose which balances the oily rich Semillon and the floral Muscadelle. White flowers and Honeydew abound. The acidity is adequate for the full mouthfeel. I wish I could stay out of these long enough to see what they taste like with some age.

Mineral and floral scents followed by lime and stone fruit flavors. Nicely acidic backbone. Interestingly, in view of other notes, this does not seem a rich or viscous as the 2011 edition.

A bit too rich for my taste, though a nice wine. The Semillon is fairly typical for the varietal. The nose is nice, slightly floral. Nice acidity, though some might find it too much (I like it). The finish is my least favorite part with the alcohol a touch too dominant.

Opened both for Thanksgiving. The first taste was so good, I knew I needed to start chilling my other bottle. Inviting nose of white flowers and spice. Plump mouth-feel with enough acid to keep from cloying. Low alcohol and zesty citrus notes out front with melon and honey on the finish. Great with food and on it's own.

Well done.

An absolutely wonderful bottle of white. Great floral and fresh nose and a lovely full-bodied creamy texture. A very positive experience and maybe the best white I had in 2014.

Melon, pears, almost spicy gewurztraminer notes, good acidity

Opened both for Thanksgiving. The first taste was so good, I knew I needed to start chilling my other bottle. Inviting nose of white flowers and spice. Plump mouth-feel with enough acid to keep from cloying. Low alcohol and zesty citrus notes out front with melon and honey on the finish. Great with food and on it's own.

Pear and honeysuckle on the nose, lime zest and mildly tropical fruits on the palate, rich mouthfeel with well balanced acid

An interesting blend of Semillon, Muscadelle and palomino. Bright and viscous on the palate. Herbs, citrus, smoke and creamyness. Fun stuff.
