Lunch at De Librije *** with Hermanos. Much richer than anticipated. Light footed (at 13%). Paired well with various fish dishes and foie gras with shrimps from the North Sea. Power, delicious but lacking some tension, probably due to the vintage

PnP and then drunk over two days, with a small leftover five days later. Next to the Dellchen of the same vintage which was a stunning contrast. The nose was very different, much more on mineral notes, wet slate or something like that. Bolder and heavier, with more evident residual sugar on the palate. I enjoyed it on the first day, but this is borderline too heavy for me. With marinated, spicy chicken it was fine.

• Color: Medium lemon • Nose: Pronounced, floral, subtle petrol, honey, lemon, mango • Mouth: Pronounced, slightly sweet taste that is so pleasant, wet stone. • Long and pleasant finish, very well balanced

Blind tasting of three Rieslings with friends; one Riesling was German, one French, one Austrian. Quite rich compared to the other wines, very mineral, a bit of botrytis, citrus, not quite as focussed as the other two, good now, but might still get better with additional age. Ranked 3rd by the group, but only by a small margin. - 91 points

A real beauty, an energetic thread carries a round, creamy texture from beginning through finish, floral, honey notes, tropical fruits peeking through, particularly with air / the third night. Very long finish where some underlying minerality bubbles up. Fine, classy feel.
I'm happy to have more of this in the cellar to try at a later date.

Dry Riesling on the rooftop (logan square, Chicago IL): The nose is balanced with a rounded and take to the tones of green and red apples, pears, quince, peaches, jasmine, ginger, mint, nectarine, papaya, gun flint, and mineral notes. The tones have smoothed out with some age while showing off very good depth and a sense of class. The Medium bodied feel is beautifully balanced and poised with tart, high acidity. This shows off good depth across the nose and palate with a style that is slightly subdued compared to the younger wines around it. This is certainly ready to drink right now, but I do think that in a few years that this will show more of a mature expression as it moves out of the primary phase.

SAQ N° 11473057 79$ WA93 Avec sushi Tri Express.

Excellent.

Very nice bottle. Not as sweet as the Spatliesse which was refreshing last night. Great flavor profile and some dryness which was so good in the hot summer.

Aroma: petrol, roasted nuts, wet stone, perhaps a whiff of sulfur. Palate: Rich and creamy. Pineapple and butter with hints of nuts. Moderate acidity and complexity. A touch of minerality.

Day 4 in the Nahe - Donnhoff/Schafer-Frohlich/Emrich-Schoenleber (Nahe - Germany): From 60 degree slopes. The soils are volcanic, and the roots are quite shallow. The nose was spicy and floral. Its palate was tense and raw with stony citrus tones. My notes read, "rugged, rigid, and tense". I've always thought Donnhoff excels with their sweet wines, but this is one of the dry ones that's really quite nice. Young...but quite nice.

A 5 hour Berlin VDP GG Rieslingmarathon: aromas of flintstones, little citrus, closed, fine and tight appearance on the palate, long+ finish, should be cellared for a lot of years............., (****-?), 90- 94?

Relatively closed, very dry, incredibly fine, long, and pure, lots of inherent complexity here, though, and the balance and precision are extraordinary.

Popped and poured. Tasting note after bottle was open for about an hour.
Wine is bright, very light golden color.
On nose, lots of peach, nectarine, honey. Lovely. Tiny mineral undertone of the vitamin pill variety.
On palate, wine is sound, high acidity, a touch of sugar, with the white fruits predominating, and a long, clean finish.
This is a lovely wine! Looking forward to trying more of these.

Lys gul. Moden gule epler og pære. Følger opp i munne. Flott fruktsødme. Stor syre.
Trenger desperat luft.
