Bearing all the hallmarks of both it’s area and it’s vintage. Darker berries, hand cream, earthiness, ‘body’. 2010 to the fore with that depth and 'bass-y' feel
Comfortably another decades worth of evolution in the pipeline. 2010 is going to be a long-lived vintage.

13 years old. Pours clear, mid ruby colour. Classic Barolo nose of tar, roses and leather. Medium bodied, possibly more palate weight than other baroli. Dry tannins, savoury palate of Turkish delight and prunes, with undertones of grilled beef. Sounds weird, tastes great!

Partly decanted one hour prior to serving. A touch lighter colored than peers. Some flowers, maybe rose petals and a bit of spice on the nose. Medium bodied, light on its feet with definite structure and a twang of acid. Identified as Barolo by many blind tasters, some even nailing its origins in Serralunga. Described by several as "pretty". In a good drinking window but with potential to improve over 5+ years. 90-91

Prior reviews explain this wine well. Very nice though can't say it is really my style. Others liked alot though and are more experienced with Italian wines.
Dark ruby with high optical density and medium specular reflectivity, with slight amber rim. Aromas of soft cherry, crushed leaves, dried flower pedals, and spices of rum cake. Medium intensity and decent complexity.
On the palate, soft medium body with medium acidity and integrated tannins. Very round and seductive texture, with decent structure. Flavours of light dusty red fruits that carry through the entire journey, with crushed gravel, fresh earth, and clean tobacco smoke adding on. The midpalate is interesting and plenty intense, though in an elegant way. Finishes clean, with nice length over a dried leather and crushed roasted nuts. Overall medium intensity and a bit better than medium complexity.
This is a classic and good quality wine. Shows its age well, with a soft approachable framework and an elegant and refined presence. Awesome wine! Balanced, austere in all the best ways, and some thoughtful depth.
100% Nebbiolo. Ruby color with brown edges. Aromas of dark fruits, rose petal, tar, leather. On the palate, complex structure, dark fruits, well intregrated tannins, acidity keeps it fresh. Bought a dozen from an auction, ready to drink now!

35 min slow ox; Private Preserve used after Day 1
N: Fragrant straws with fresh roses & cherries; Earthiness & notes of plums with addt'l air/swirling
P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which nicely resolves as it morphs into a very LONG, tangy/swt finish with ult a beautifully balanced elegance. Went nicely with plain Black Beans, not quite as well (though still > acceptably) with Sharp Cheddar Cheese & Whl Wheat Bread.
// Day 2: Aromatically ~ with some choc & spice that I didn't notice Day 1. P shows < frt vis-a-vis the acidity, which wasn't all that noticeable 'cept with food, the Port Salut Cheese seeming to do the best.
// Day 3: ~ Day 2, acidity continuing to gain over the diminishing frt, though this was < noticeable with tiny sips, particularly when paired with the Stouffer's Swedish Meatballs & Feta Cheese Crumbles.
// Day 4: Aromatics down for the 1st time, P no WORSE than expected.
// ∑: SOLIDLY my EXC- (91), VERY arguably the higher end of my EXC (92,93/100 using that metric), particularly if finished Day1 *&* one considers the QPR of the $26.44 / 750 ml pd for it in the Spring of 2016. DEFINITELY in its window, & I can see it drinking through '24, VERY poss longer. 14% ABV [From a 1L bottle]

Rose bush in bloom, cherry, blackberry, orange peel, beef stew, trailing fine sandy chocolate and Dutch liquorice tannins, and then velvet. Ample length. Benefitted greatly from an hour of air, now open three, getting better and better.
Nose of chocolate and blackberry with herbal notes. Palate was similar with distinctive sweet pepper after the fruit. Medium weight, long and versatile with food. Opened up gradually and seems like it could go for many years.
This wine is certainly taking it's time to unfurl. Much darker and denser textured than the 2011, which has a much higher-toned, red-fruited, instant charm. Clearly also a more 'serious' wine, dark fruits - cherry and blackberry, not quite blackcurrant (though maybe blackcurrant leaf?), with those animalistic and earthier tones (rather than leather at the moment).
My last note was 2016, when this was coiled tight, and whilst still having plenty of room (and stuff) to improve, this is slowly starting to progress into it's drinking window.
And considering this is only a commune not an MGA wine, and could easily develop over another decade, clearly shows how long some of these 2010's are going to live for.
balanced and tertiary, a little more than I expected from such a great vintage. The 2011 had much more pretty fruit. Still a good wine but wouldn't seek out this vintage
Not bad, certainly enjoyable and in line with the price point. Not much fruit left, tannins have faded and given way to some nice earth notes. Paired with a black pepper linguine and spicy red sauce and that worked well. I don't think this has the structure to go much longer, drink now to next 3 years in my opinion.
As others have noted, tannins are finally starting to soften, allowing the fruit to come through. Considerably improved over a couple of years ago. Decanted for 90 minutes.
nice leathery, earthy nose, raspberry on tongue, short decant sufficient, nice. It's interesting to search cellar tracker ratings "by time" to see how the ratings for this wine have climbed every year... Good to have a cellar.
Developing nicely. Clearly past the awkward phase and showing its potential now. Very smooth and more rounded tannins now. Guess this wine will be middle of drinking window in 2 or 3 years, then slowly starting to lose the fruit. Rose and some herbs now. Hint of cherry. Less vanilla. Would not decant more than 1 hr. best enjoyed from Burgundy glassware.
Classic, smooth barolo. Fine cherrie andviolet fruit on the nose. Hints of licorice and some raspberries. On the palate medoum bodied, smooth, good tannin, well integrated.
Strawberry, cherry, leather, rose petals, tar. Medium-plus body & acidity. Medium-minus tannins. Medium-long finish. Ready now with a short decant. Went well with lasagna.
Decanted a few hours. Raspberry and cheery fruit dominate. Rose bush, leather and citrus peel aromas. Nice finish with an elegant profile. Dusty lingering tannin. Decent structure. Should hold for a few years. Drink Now-2025,
N: Earth, almost a mustiness, which DOES blow off to muted notes of tar & flowers
P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt fairly quickly met by an astringent pucker which DOES pretty much work itself out by the LONG, very, VERY slightly spicy, slightly tangy finish with a bitter/swtness to the dusty tannins. Although others felt it was drinking fine now, I'd say it NEEDS through '21, then drinking through '26? 14% ABV; My EXC- (90,91/100 using that metric), more eventually? [As of mid Oct '19, wine-searcher still shows 2 sources of 750 ml bottles @ $40 & $45. (Mine was from their 1 L bottle)].

Black cherry and mulberry on the nose and entry. Nose has a red cola note that doesn't seem to translate to the palate. A little bit of tobacco and bay leaf here. A little atypical for your typical Barolo for sure. More on the lean side. Finishes with some dried herb and sweeter young oak tannin and almost with a BBQ Lay's potato chip finish. Can almost taste the light toast on the barrels. I am really not sure how many more years this one has on it, but drinking well now and glad I decided to open it
Tobacco, truffles, touch of leather and bright vibrant fruit. Feels more acidity driven than tannin bits it’s only 30mins in. Loving the high levels of umami here through the chewy finish. For $40aud or so it’s a steal, but it’s clear it’s an early drinking 10’. Wine is good now- now pushing 4.25 out of 5- but the short corks will be lucky to sustain another 10 years. Half way up already. Now to seven years.
Distinctive sort of musty nose. Fruit sweetness at first, and then grippy South of France style tannins plus acid.
For me this is a confronting style. I see why people like the fruity ripeness, yet this is so different from the cooler climate Bordeaux and Burgundy, and also so different from New World cabernet or shiraz or almost anything.
And it always seems a bit corked to me. It can’t always be.
PS is Barolo supposed to be so like the South of France? It always seems so to me.
Popped and poured; consumed over two days. Dark cherries, tar, black tea and wet rocks. Tart black cherries and black berries. Plenty of structure to last. Came across just a touch hot on the second day. Drink now or hold.
My first foray into Barolo and I have to say it's left me intrigued.
I thought the dominant leather and rose aromas and the backdrop of vanilla coupled with the balanced acidity in the sour candied cherry and anise flavours made this a thought-provoking experience. Paired well with some aged Gouda and Parmesan.
We only had it decanted for 3 hours and started off rather tight. Lesson learned for next one!
Will definately be revisiting Barolo soon (when I've saved up enough pennies)
Yrttinen tuoksu, jossa vadelmia, kirsikkaa ja nahkaa. Todella hapokas ja kirkuvan tanniininen. Monen tunnin dekantoinikaan ei oikein auttanut. Makuspektri hyvä, mutta hakee vielä tasapainoa.
Colour starting to lighten. Fresh acid tannin within a nicely savoury fruity framework. Is this textbook Barolo? Not sure, it's not profound but it seems to be true.
Can only concur with what has been said before regarding the youthfulness of this wine. Indeed, I checked the producers website and their own advice is that his should be peaking at 6-8 years from vintage. My opinion is that that is way off. I suspect this needs 'til about 2020.
A Ferociously young Barolo, quite dark - certainly darker and less translucent than the 2011. It has the cherry and berries nose, with an animalistic hint, but neither is the nose anywhere near as forthcoming as the 2011 is right now. 3 hours in the decanter was not nearly enough to tame the tannins or acidity on this. Food certainly helped (Bolognese pasta, since you ask!).
Again, though, the 'heat' of the 2010 vintage is noticeable in this. I hope that aspect mellows a little, as I worry that some wines from the vintage are just going to start developing a cooked edge to them.
I'd recommend holding, or decanting for much longer than you'd assume necessary.
Not super complex but drinks easy right after opening. Modern styled with low acid, tons of fruit, and vanilla. Probably would improve some more with decanting.
From a half bottle that was decanted more than 3 hours. A bit tight on the nose, showing a bit of tar and red fruit. Medium to full bodied, very tannic, delivering subtle red fruit, tar, floral notes, and some oak. A lovely young tannic beast with great structure. It is very tight but quite crunchy and delicious already. Improved with more airtime.
Shy aromas: ripe dark berries, leather, nutmeg. Medium bodied, almost a bit thin. Big, and somewhat bitter tannins Delicious, smoky and spicy fruit on the mid palate, but turns abruptly very dusty and earthy, and in the finish and aftertaste, almost bitter. This wine needs a looooooong Decanting. After 5 hours the bitterness and austerity gave more space for the fruit to shine. Good, structured Barolo, but needs many years to reach it`s full potential.
Drank over three days. Light in color for young Barolo, with orange hues. The bouquet shows light rose petal notes, lots herbal tea notes, rosehips, tart red fruits, brick dust, tar, and petrol notes. Not a wine likely to reward the searcher of fruit, this is a wine of the earth. It packs considerable power in the form of earth-driven substance and tannic structure and includes an elegance uncommon for this price range. Tannic finish of serious length. This rustic offering needs time to come into its own. Hold until 2020 and drink through 2030. Well done and rock solid QPR! 91-93.
I am not completely enamoured by this wine which is very thin on the palate with nothing really jumping out but its iron like minerality and perhaps some cedary nutmeg things going on.
This wine has aging potential but needs a HUGE decant - dark cherry, blackberry alongside scruffy herbal notes.
This wine is described as balanced but I find its earthy (dusty) and herbal notes most pronounced.
Nice light red. The nose when first opened was so tight. There was almost nothing there. The palate was thin and the finish tannic as hell.
After an hour everything opened up. Still tight but there was tar, violets, smoke and black cherry in the nose and the palte showed some nice fruit. The finish softened but still is quite tannic.
Obviously needs time. 93 points in the WA. A Monica Larmer score I would think. I find her to be a bit of a cheerleader for Italian wine.
Balanced nebolio fruit (not too full; not too light). Fine grained tannins. Somewhat tannic but still drinkable now. Very good QPR for a $45 wine. Will be a nice wine in 5 years. So 92 now; 94 in 5 years.

garnet red, red fruit aromas. taste has good red fruit, light body with a hint of herb evolving into dominant black pepper. leaving high tannins on the finish. medium acid.
Somewhat translucent dark cherry red color. Sweet, rich and complex nose with attractive and varietally pure aromas of sweet black cherries, floral notes of roses, some figgy dark fruit, a little bit of dusty earth, a hint of sweet toasty smoke character and a touch of raisiny fruit reminding of the warm vintage. Contrasting the rich and voluptuous nose, the wine is remarkably firm and structured on the palate with high acidity and ample, still grippy and assertive tannins along with quite full, muscular body. There are complex and intense flavors of sweet black cherries, peppery spice, some rose tones, a little bit of tar, a hint of sweet boysenberry marmalade and a touch of chocolatey oak spice. The finish is long and somewhat sweet, although the mouth-drying firm tannins offset much of the sweetness away. The aftertaste is quite powerful with ripe flavors of cherry marmalade, ripe red fruits, some tannic bitterness, a little bit of chocolatey oak, a hint of tar and a touch of dusty earthiness.
A well-made, big and structured Barolo that shows the ripeness of the warm vintage, but also carries it remarkably well - unlike many a Barolo from 2009, for example. Overall the wine feels something of a cross-over between modernist and traditionalist style: the wine shows some ripe and concentrated fruit-forward character and somewhat noticeable oak character that are typical of modernist wines, but the wine is also chewy, structured and quite lean, more in the vein of classicist Barolo. Overall this feels like a traditinalist Barolo but made in the style that appeals to the larger audiences - or like a modernist Barolo, but one with enough purity, character and structure to suit the palates of the fans of the old-school style. Overall an impressive wine that feels still very young; most likely this wine will need some 5 years before there's going to be any noticeable resolution and at least 10 years more before it really starts to strut its stuff. Priced according to its quality at 39,90€.

A little closed, nose with cassis, leather, and hints of roses. Harsh tannins. Nothing to write home about. Disappointing. Might improve with cellar time but I wouldn't bet on it.
A liter bottle. Medium-deep bright garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of youthful & still-developing, ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with lovely floral overtones of violets & roses, spices, dried herbs, earthy, dusty, loam, licorice, leather, tar & minerals. Medium-full bodied with a good concentration of balanced, silky smooth textured, youthful & still developing, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, mulberries & pomegranate with herbs, earthiness, spices & minerals. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting & airing and will benefit and develop further with additional aging.
Italian-theme Christmas Dinner (Novi, MI): Opened and consumed over 4 hours. This opened up tight, but gradually developed and was singing by the end of the night. If you want to drink this now, give it a LONG decant. Aromas of violet, rose, leather, and tar. This also divided the group, based on stylistic preference of those who like "dry" wine or not.

Could use a couple more years of aging to soften the tannic edge a little more. Nice dusty fruit notes and medium finish.

Still too young, but should come around soon-ish?
14%ABV, sealed with cork.

Needs more time. If you plan to drink it, decant it 6 hours minimum. I did three and it could have been more.

Nothing wrong with this, but nothing exceptional. The tannins are mild and the acidity is crisp. The fruit and nose are rather muted.

Big, and somewhat bitter tannins
Delicious, smoky and spicy fruit on the mid palate, but turns abruptly very dusty and earthy, and in the finish and aftertaste, almost bitter.
