Found this a bit difficult to assess. I have less experience with Chablis of this caliber than other chardonnays, and have limited experience with (lightly) aged examples, too. It was a beautiful, fascinating wine, engaging and unique. I'm not sure if it truly "grabbed" me or became more than the sum of its parts. It definitely felt like a wine of place though, like it could have only come from a great vineyard in Chablis. I didn't decant, did a pop and pour despite the previous note (was shared last minute with friends, 20 mins out of the fridge)- maybe needed more air and patience.
The nose took some coaxing to open up, but not much- I got lots of little notes one at a time. Led with flint, then tidepool (along with the faint "funk" of seaweed or barnacles), white flowers, a bit of bright green apple, and even something like mushroom, a faint savory note that was sometimes fantastic and other times slightly off-putting. I got only a touch of oak or malo influence, little pops of vanilla that didn't stay around long. I don't know if I'd say the nose was super "harmonious", but it was definitely complex.
The palate was different, being a lot more "focused" and straightforward in a way - a huge, long wave of pure lemon/lime zest and saline minerality surging into the taste receptors and lingering extremely long in the finish. Despite the high acidity, it never felt "tart", just bright and vibrant. I might say it was lacking a bit of "depth" (felt like all soprano rather than a full choir.) Still, what an incredible length and focus.
I could be underrating this easily - I just don't have as much to compare it to as I'd like, and I could see it improving more, especially as the nose gets more and more expressive. For the price, I was slightly more impressed with the Kumeu River Maté Vineyard, which isn't a totally fair comparison. Really looking forward to trying more Fevre and other Chablis benchmarks.

Popped'n poured for Bastille Day at La Piquette in D.C., along with a 2017 Henri Boillot Clos de la Mouchère and a 2005 Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton. Lovely minerality and white flowers aromas - drinking beautifully but a bit overshadowed by the Boillot.

This bottle was delicious. Lime, hints of vanilla cream, and loads of salty minerality and crisp acidity. Fresh as a daisy, as my dad would say. Excellent.

Pale lemon-green with delicate aromas of mineral, alpine meadow, lemon rind and white grapefruit zest. Wafts of sea shells, chalk dust, Galia melon, apple and white pepper. Fresh on entry, the vibrant saline-edged acidity is steely and linear. However, the mid-palate is riper than the nose suggests with orchard fruits and white peach. Medium-bodied, this is bone-dry and very Chablis-like with a touch of richness underneath and on top that poised and mineral edge. A touch of spice from oak adds intrigue, but at 8 years this is light on its feet. The finish is long but has a firmer, sinewy feel to it.

When first poured, there was almost no smell. Like nothing. It was also very subdued on the palate. With time it started to show some lime, and minerality. I am looking forward to trying it again today to see if it just got lost in last nights dinner, or what the deal is.

Chablis 1er Cru 2014 (Stock, Oslo): Ren og eplepreget duft. Stram, pent syrlig, frisk og ren frukt. God konsentrasjon, men litt uforløst per nå og kan ligge lengre. En av kveldens beste

[First of 6, bought on release, perfect fill, Diam 10 cork]. Brilliant. Sophisticated nose, citrus oil, even an hint of lanolin, classy limestone-based fruit set with some roundness to the mid-palate. Long length. Delicious. Tastes great and has upside potential. Has the electric acid and minerals of the best premier crus, and the 'gras' of a grand cru. 93-94+

Bottle #2 of 6: More settled than last bottle 2 yrs ago, but still has a long way to go. At this point still trailing behind the Côte Bouguerots ‘14, but wouldn’t surprise me if the Vaulorent takes it to a higher level in 10-20 yrs. This is, imo, one of the (many) white 2014 chablis’ that, despite the high acidity, You shouldn’t worry about cellaring. (92-95 pts).

Love the subtle complexity of the nose and palate on this wine. Elegant and delicious now, I will save my last two bottles for 2 to 4 years to see how this beauty develops. Really showed its stuff against a Brick House Cascadia 2013 and a Kumeu River Hunting Hill 2015.

Beautiful aromatics of citrus fruit, peach, pear, green apple and crushed chalk. The palate is somewhat dissapointing with a blanket of acidity that tastes like there were some unripe grapes or stalks thrown in here. Instead of highlighting the fruit, it somewhat smothers it. Medium finish.

2014 Chablis Lunch (Grappa Leichhardt): Very pale, again (again). Strong family resemblance to the Fourchaume but denser and with more complex citrus pith/skin/oil notes to both the nose and palate. Good structure, long finish, excellent potential.

At The Vault wine bar. More color (in restaurant lighting) than I expect from Fevre but the euphoria-inducing nose and splendid palate are spot-on. Fully open, generous and complex as one expects from the vintage, lasting finish.

Chablis Masterclass (North Loop Wines, Mpls): Pale greenish color. Drank 1 glass over 90 minutes. This looks to be a shining star. Recent notes look to be accurate, I like Burgundy Al's take on this. Lovely nose with saline, sea breezes, white florals, and white citrus fruits. The palate has really focused minerality, tart white fruits, lemon-lime, elegant with an earthiness to the brine. There is some richness that comes through in terms of the depth and power, and a hint of vanilla bean on the medium plus finish. Very promising, 92+(+)pts.

PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and day 4, long diam cork -translucent pale light yellow-grey-green -mostly reduction funk with some underlying Chablis characteristic -med/med+ acidity, middle weight sweet ripe citrus fruit that doesn't have much complexity at this point though it does have quite a bit of mineral intensity and reasonable length with a clean slightly bitter finish, does seem to open up with air; a little more complexity and focus on day 4 -solid but not really singing like this cuvee often does; it may still be a bit too young to really shine

At this very moment in time this wine is a cold steel blade. Sharp, minerally, compact and cool. It has incredible intensity and magnificent posture. It should unfurl into something spectacular in a decade.
Citrus fruit, minerals. Exceptionally balanced, clean on the palette, with a soft crisp finish (a light touch of acid). Should be better in about five years.
