13% alcohol. The cork is quite long and so smooth that you might think that it is reconstituted. Medium colour. The nose is an interesting mix of red and dark fruit (some even cooked); very harmonious but perhaps less vivacious than what one might expect from a Fleurie. Very comfortable in the mouth with some added liquorice and vg mouthfeel; superb acidity in the finish and convincing balance overall. The combination of ageing and the vintage results in an atypical Fleurie, but a highly enjoyable one.

We know what Roilette is capable of, which is why we cellar it. But as the drinking occasion approaches, we wonder what experience awaits us. In this case, the wine was less effusively fruity than Beaujolais can be, and instead showed an array of floral (poppies!) and sappy aromas in a mature context. Yes, very Fleurie, but also very Roilette. My only bottle of 2015, but if I had another, I'd open it in the next year or so.

A robust, dark drink. Sobbing profusely with black berry ink. Tightly organized and coherent. Iron and tar-scented earth. Lots of discrete, impulsive fruit sweetness strides weightlessly around gnarled, jointed furniture. What marked this as not-Roero-Nebbiolo were the curled, bobbed tannins. As far as music—with scented, bright fruit lyrics—it sings! Anise. French prune. Lilac. Framboise. Secondary flavor production is in full swing. It won't be time to panic drink your surpluses until well after 2025.
Seemed like the lightest wine yer. Very dark berry fruit. Lots of mineralogy. Day 2 - seems to have put on some weight. Still dark with lots of crushed rocks.

Despite the estate's reputation in some quarters, I've never had any problem finding Fleurie that I liked considerably better, and that continues here, exaggerated by a vintage I am not crazy about. A dark, opaque appearance, monolithic, somewhat brutish wine with no detail or finesse to its violet and dark fruit aromas and flavors. Cellared since original release.

Much as noted in past. One year on there is still the lovely purple and red fruit, moderate rich body, less tannin and acid but still retains definition. Reasonable length. I'd say time to consume while fruit is flourishing but still some tension.

Initially very sharp acidity overwhelming the fruits. After 2-3 hours, the wine was more balanced with bright red fruits. Despite the vintage, not that concentrated compared to other 2015 Beaujolais.

Deep red/purple. Black cherry, black berry, strawberry, earth, a bit of spice, balanced and not so crunchy with tannin, not especially open nose, but very nice palate. Drank over two days, and it evened out and with a bit more lushness to fruit on second day, but still with good and balanced acid & definition. Worked well with food and on its own. Very good.

Excellent. Medium full body. Translucent purple color. Very young and primary. Juicy, but with a nice tannic structure and acidity. Rich raspberry, strawberry flavors itha even a sligh tase of cassis. This could use two more years tp coms into balance and then has at least another 5 years after that. Good value too.

Pours dark, deep purple - appears decidedly heavier than it is. At open it was very light and fruit forward, both on the nose and palate, but with some air it really evolves nicely. After two hours open the nose added a spicy notes to compliment the fruit - jammy blueberry, cinnamon, violets, even a hint of fresh ground coffee. I'm not sure on the production but I definitely picked up stems across the palate - it has a fresh, green note, complimented by red currant, more blueberries, rooibos tea and bitter orange. It's taught with enough acidity for some bite, but it still finishes soft.
Great QPR at $20, wish I picked up more 15s.

13% alcohol. Medium ruby colour (but I am using a new drinking glass, so this might affect my perception). The nose is captivating, with more blackberries than redcurrants. The mouth is equally good, with no sense of over-ripeness, although the balance is again away from redcurrant tastes, which is no bad thing for my palate. Refreshing acidity in the finish. A superb Fleurie, and a repeat purchase, but not for those who like their Beaujolais with ulcer-inducing acidity.

Tasted over three days. The wine needed air to show its finest qualities. During the first hours open sweet fruit and moderate brett dominated on the bouquet and palate. With air, the wine showed greater precision, mineral depth, and grip. The brettiness receded on the second and third days, allowing the wine to show its substance, with raspberry, cranberry, lingonberry, blackberry, rooibos, hibiscus, black earth, and sous-bois. The impression of garnet gemstones provided highly appealing cut, lift, and tension. The wine held the same form on the third day. Overall, at under $20, an excellent value for 2015 Cru Beaujolais.
Presents most of the hallmark aromas and flavors of a coudert fleurie, but the ratio of sweet fruit to acidity is elevated, and it lacks some of the typical brambliness and angularity apparent in most vintages.

A bit more austere on the nose than expected. But it opens up and is a terribly attractive wine. Almost meaty and gamey, but it's not remotely rustic - in fact this is a refined Fleurie with considerable depth and contained power. Excellent. I would age this.

Popped and poured, this had very primary juicy dark and earthy fruit, but almost nothing behind it. There's no there there, which is a surprise. As someone who buys this on a regular basis, I was expecting more, especially from a full-bodied vintage like 2015. It almost felt out of balance, as if the grapes were ripe but not phenologically so. Maybe they picked early to avoid any excessive ripeness, but frankly we barely drank half the bottle before dumping it down the drain. Which is a shame, as we love Beaujolais and this producer.

This is delicious wine - violets, blackberry and kirsch - but it is SO ripe and black-fruited that I don't know that I'd ever be able to distinguish it as Beaujolais if tasting blind.

Rich (almost to a fault), thick and delicious. Very dark garnet color, sweet fruity nose, unctuous sweet red fruit verging on jammy-ness. Soft tannins save the wine from cloying. Reportedly this wine ages well, if it dries out it could be excellent. Right now it's a delicious fruit bomb but almost too much of a good thing.

This wine is buzzing. Dark purple in the glass with red edges, offering high-tone red fruits against funky, green herbaceous notes. Consistent across the palate too. The fruit is ripe and bright, brimming with acidity. Tastes young, little harsh on the edges, but that should resolve with a bit more time in the bottle. Picking up more to see where this goes over the next few years.

This is ripe and more polished than the 2015 Piron Morgon Py I opened yesterday, but it is also more elegant and refined, showing lighter red, juicy, garden fruit. Tannic, just as the Piron, indicating that cellar time is warranted for this to soften up. Lots of stuffing here, sunshine in a glass. I can see this going places.

Color: quite dark for a beaujolais. Nose: rather closed. Taste: rather good fruit with raspberry, strawberry and cherry, and with a light animal note. The tannins were still not resolved. Good acidity. Concentrated. Tasting almost like a Bordeaux. At the second day nose as well as taste were a bit more open, with the same animal note in the nose and with some fruit. Still young, this wine seems to need two more years of cellaring. It keeps some promise, I guess, because of the good concentration. For now: 87-88, potentially 88+.

This is a robust wine with forward, succulent purple and red toned fruits; showing a touch of stalkiness on the nose that doesn't appear on the palate until after having been opened a few hours time. For all of its ripe, youthful fruit there is a good mineral vein running through this, particularly on the backside, where some grippiness shows itself with air. Without intending to be too critical, this wine is more about what it doesn't have than what it does, as it seems to trade snappy fruits for ripe succulence and the herbaceous streak that defines the backend of the 2014 is barely noticable here. Lastly, this sacrifices some freshness in favor of breadth and lush fruit. Nevertheless, this is a pleasant wine to drink with some good hidden structure.
Very Good - Hold 2019

Given early reports about the vintage, I was bracing for a more "high-octane" rendition, but this was well-balanced and lovely. Warm, dark red berry fruit and peppery spice on the nose, without the usual, faintly stalky aromas I get from young Coudert. Plenty of ripe fruit and crunchy minerals on the palate, but a little soft and lacking some of the snappy spine from prior years. While this may lack some of Coudert's typical age-worthiness, it's still a delicious, food-friendly version that's worth picking up.

Popped and poured, youthful violet/ruby. Fruit-forward (raspberry) and carbonic immediately off the pop, an herbaceous earthiness becomes apparent as this opens. Medium body. So entirely youthful on the palate, shows an abundance of lush, ripe fruit flavors that are cut by a decent dose of acidity. Although the tannins are well-rounded, there's a chewiness to them that's slightly astringent on the moderate close. At this early stage, the 2015 comes off like a more-substantial blend of the 2013 & 2014; that said, this clearly needs some time to sort itself out. Has lots of potential though...

PNP. Cork perfect color dark ruby with purplish rim. Nose gives me cherry cream soda and crushed limestone w beeswax and a touch of VA. Swishing this shows acidity that coats the cheeks and has an almost chalky character. Sipping this shows great density and a med short finish that is really pleasant. This benefited from a pass thru Venturi tonight. This may be slightly more dense than the '14 but it seems more polished. Haven't had them side by side but that's my sense. Give this 6-12 mos in bottle and it will be smokin good. Very nice tonight w grilled chicken provencale.

Opened one hour in advance. Aromas of black fruit, cedar, earth. Flavors of cassis, black fruit, Tart menthol finish.
Dark, brooding, rich. Very primary, full bodied and reticent at the same time. Really good now, with excellent potential. 90+.

Fruité Frais un peu de poivre. Maceration carbonique ? Assez court peu complexe. Assez bien.

Mouth puckering tart and lean berry fruit with a light herbal/steamy streak. Doesn't change much on Day 2.
