Excellent wine with none of the oxidation I had feared after my last bottle of the 2014 vintage. Straw coloured. So far so good. Aroma with yellow apple, white pepper (!) and lime acidity. In the mouth it is sinewy yet harmonious, with good persistence. A very satisfying wine. However, I have now decided to lower the cellar time on my Chidaine wines to no more than five years. (My points have been adjusted to fit with the original descriptions of Parker. This is an excellent wine, but not outstanding. (This bottle was bought in Paris in 2017)

This bottle was fairly acidic and perhaps slightly out of balance, but improved with air and paired pretty well with fried seafood where the acid cut the fat nicely.

Deep yellow, hints of age on opening via a touch of nutty wood, aged lemon. With air time more integrated mosaic, much as short & confused, mjreb describe. Too an initial impression of high acidity moderated as fruit became more expressive. Quite deep and long, and the lemon, apple, honey, light floral notes were captivating. Definitely grew on me, and the morphing through dinner of sauteed scallops and lion's mane mushrooms over pasta was excellent. Seems to be at a great stage now, and given some uneven aging of chidaine bottles in past I am inclined to say drink up.

PNP. cork perfect. color gold. no denying the oxidation on the nose and the palate. agree that there is adequate acidity to keep this interesting, but when drunk with a non-oxidated contemporary wine there is no denying it. good but would have guessed this from Jura - maybe intentional but certainly not typical chenin

Fermentation of Les Choisilles can last up to six months, with wild yeasts, no malo-lactic, aging on the lees in large barrels. The 2015s at Chidaine are studies in terroir with the young wines showing intense acidity and mineral flavors eclipsing, for now, the elegant white and yellow fruits that coat the palate. The Choisilles is the archetype of the great wines of Montlouis-sur-Loire. François Chidaine delivers a superb score, with a wine on the flowers, infusion (linden, chamomile), stone fruits (peach, apricot) The attack in the mouth is of a great amplitude, all in sweetness, with then the acidity that takes over and allows the wine to stand on a long and vibrant finish, with a hint of bitterness that enhances the flavors. Les Choisille offers a wine with a superb balance between fat and minerality. Very nice wine.
Though delicious now, served with grilled fish, fish and chicken in sauce and shellfish.

Couple years since the previous bottle. Green apple, wool and floral nose, maybe a little flint, too. Color is a light gold but to dispel any inference to oxidation here, I don't find any at all. The core of the wine is a lot like the bottle from 2-17, exhibiting a good amount of bright citrus, grapefruit in tone. Mixed in is green apple, peach and good tension through the clean finish. This bottle is bright with energy and crisper flavors. In a good place for drinking or further aging.

My last bottle. Golden-colored in the glass, with a crisp, focused, minerally nose.
Bracing acidity on the palate - a wine that, at least IMO, has a pretty wide range of drinkability. That said, off this bottle, I could argue that I've ended up drinking all of mine too young ;^)
Some tart apple fruit on the palate - this is very easy to knock back a couple glasses on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Ripe lemon, bruised yellow apple, and a touch of flint. Refreshing acidity that coats the palate, medium body and great intensity of flavors. The wine ends on a long, slightly saline finish. What a great bottle!

Citrus, white fruit (mainly apple), floral notes, very mineral (salty), good density and length. Extremely good bottle, reminds me on the Brézé of Clos Rougeard in a cool year.

PnP - consumed over two nights with little change observed. The nose on this is somewhat neutral - perhaps a bit of citrus. Lovely on the palate though, with bright acidity and some layers, of apples, stone fruit, citrus, minerals and a waxy lanolin type mouthfeel which adds some weight. I suspect this will absolutely improve with some cellar time, but alas we felt the need to open. Need to get some more of these!

Light golden in the glass, with a nice sea breeze note on the nose.
A honeyed note as the wine hits your palate, with good supporting acidity and decent persistence. This could better be described as rounded as opposed to taut, yet it still drinks very well. I think off this glass I prefer this today to the Les Bournais I had yesterday, but I did save a glass of that, so I will confirm my preference in a bit.

Pale gold colour. This is quite lovely - hints of marmalade wrapped in steely acid and mineral rocks. Very intense palate, slight sweetness balanced by the acidity. Very tightly wound, a coiled spring unleashing huge energy. Needs more time but very good drinking now.

Popped and poured at a friend's birthday dinner. Didn't pay close-enough attention to write a proper TN. I did enjoy this quite a lot, however. Probably a 90 - 91 point wine for me. Medium+ to high acidity. Plenty of mineral with tangy fruit providing a solid framework. Alc. not noticeable. Should buy another bottle for a closer look.

I do love tasting this wine year year in and year out. White orchard fruit on the nose with some slate. Quite a bit of acidity on the palate- tart green apple stuff. There is some lemon rind and a hint of honey and ginger. Overall, very satisfying. Look forward to seeing how it does in the fridge over night.

Opening night, this was really disjointed, with acids a little screechy and showing little complexity on the nose or palate. Stuck it in the fridge for two nights, and voila! this came together beautifully. Lovely golden apple, chalk dust, and a little wool sweater action. While lacking the precision and pitch-perfect balance of the 2014 rendition, this was still fresh and lively in spite of the fuller fruit profile. Make sure to give this lots of air or some more time in the cellar.

Adding to the short chorus of notes to date, this is the first bottle opened of the handful I bought. I buy this cuvee every year, regardless of the vintage because I appreciate the producer's style, their approach to the environment, and of course, the way the wines taste--delicious. Opened this last night, drank about 1/2 with my wife and the ABV must be well in check here as I didn't feel much of it, which is another reason why I like these wines. Aromatically, showing apple and slate. Same slate in the core of the wine, with a lemony profile and as Alan said in his TN, quite a bit of tartness that pokes all the way through into the finish. And, a grapefruit note too, akin to the citrus of the lemon, I suppose. Apricot, saline and green apple close the flavors, along with the lemon and a lighter texture of honey. This vintage of Choisilles is distinctly noted by acidity, and in ratio to the fruit component, far exceeding it. I actually don't mind seeing some vintage variation, and the acidity here is delicious, something I want to see in my Chenin.

Light honey gold in color, nose is pretty shy, hints of floral fruit; not quite what I was expecting from the warmer 2015 vintage, showing just moderate depth and intensity, with a noticeable tartness, and missing the fireworks and length of the best vintages (14, 10, and 08). I can't help but think this was picked fairly early, to avoid becoming overripe in the warmth, yielding fruit that just never fully developed the intensity and complexity of flavor this bottling is capable of. It's not raw and unformed, as the 2011 was, just underwhelming.
