Decanted two hours and really opened nicely as took some small tastes on opening and hour one. Medium to full bodied with dark cherry fruit some tobacco. Well balanced. Nice merlot/ cab sauv mixture. Early in its drinking window decanting really helped.

Year 2015, opened in Nov. 2023 - it was still a fullbody with blackberry, oak and a lots of tannins. It was changing alot within the 2 hours from opening, being very tannin heavy to become very smooth and even "light" - both experiences was good - i believe it could take several more years in the cellar, or just decant it before use. Good with meat. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. It tastes a little like oak. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Big, generous nose full of purple fruit, gentle oak treatment and dried herbs. On palate on the other hand the wine is precise and elegant but with some tannins that can smoothen out from here. It came together after two hours of air and was a perfect companion to grilled meat. I will hold my other bottles for a couple of years and bet on some upside but with a good decant this is beautiful now.

Beautiful wine. On the nose it had more brunello notes than bdx -ie sweet tobacco and red fruit / cherries vs. cassis and dark fruit. Great balance on the palate with round fruit anchored bu medium acid and tannins. Long, enjoyable finish. Would buy more if I could find it.

Oreno 2015 On the nose, black fruit, vanilla, oak, soy sauce, some animal funk, licorice, cola, mocha and coffee, smells like old Bordeaux. On the palate, black fruit, vanilla and oak, blackberry, animal funk, coffee and chocolate. Quite powerful. 93/100

Twin Cities Wine Club: Italian Tasting (Teresa's House (Minneapolis, MN)): Holly cow is this a big wine in a good way. Roasted chestnuts, dark berries, minerals, oak, cherry and limestone. Medium to long finish. A powerhouse of a wine. Will revisit this on day two to see if it is less intense. 92-94. Day 2: Left Bank ringer on day 2 with gravel, funk, roasted chestnuts, blueberries, cherry and pencil shavings. Medium plus finish and concentrated. For sure will age for a while. 93+ points Recommendation: Hold these until 2028.

Powerful, tangy (primarilly) red fruited, especially cranberry sauce, but also ripe plump cherries. a very Italian expression of Bordeaux grapes, as it ends with a racy acidic flourish. The cabernet adds tannic thrust and barrique aging a lush mouthfeel. The finish goes on...I would like to drink this in a few more years.

Black/ red in glass. On nose, herbs, mint, sweet cherry, strawberry and tobacco. Palate similar to nose. medium body, medium acidity/tannins and very long elegant finish. We started at 12pm, and I had my last drop of this Oreno at 4pm.

I do not have much experience drinking Italian wines, and if I was drinking this blind there is no question I would guess this is napa cab/merlot type "bordeaux blend", something like that. this does have a freshness that reminds me of a Bordeaux, but stiil quite fruit forward and dense. pretty solid and reasonable QPR

Painfully young albeit quite enjoyable. Bursts of red licorice, peat moss, blackberries, and assorted dark fruit on the nose. Quite enticing ...
Some hard edges and drying tannin on the palate at this young age. This is going to be a wonderful quaffer in 5-7 years when this softens a bit. Pristine dark fruit abounds ( plum, blackeberry, currant, etc..). Let this sit a spell....
Wow great depth complexity balance and finish. Bridges the gap between old and new world beautifully. Intense black and red fruits with savoury notes. Over scored by JS but still awesome.
Pretty eggplant-colored rim surrounds deep purple color, tannins not yet integrated -- could certainly use time, but potential shows through. Rich, full, with lots of dark fruit but fresh and vibrant all the same.

Super young. Took 30 minutes to catch its breath but this was full bodied, luscious yet restrained black fruit with floral notes all around. Finishes with a lot of stiff young oak tannin. The best years of this wine are definitely ahead of it, and I would LOVE to see where this one is in 5 years.
Great potential, once the alcohol level and tannins soften down and let the typical boudeaux blend notes open up it’ll be a spectacular wine. I’ll try the next one in 2020.

DIscover VINO - Fine wines corner; 5/11/2018-5/12/2018 (Sofia): Tasted for a second time for the last 2 months, this bottle needed to be open more in advance, but nevertheless here is what I got - CS based blend that is coming velvety with finely grained tannin structure, a bit of chocolate, a dash of blueberries and other ripe forrest fruits, again finely structured but with that violet-purpe color it is a baby.

Hands down the prettiest Oreno bouquet I have encountered. Ripe blackberry and boysenberry 'sweetness', muddled flower petals, raspberry and hibiscus teas, live herbs, and assorted berry liqueurs. Utterly enthralling! Unsurprisingly ripe, a striking theme of the 2015 vintage throughout Europe to date, lush and layered textures, seamless mouthfeel, and an impression of weightless saturation. An oxymoronic term to be sure, but other descriptors fail me. The middle and back do not lack for power and the wine finishes long.
Along with the drop-dead gorgeous bouquet, this is also the most forward Oreno I have tasted, with no close second. Like so many 2015 vintage wines, the lingering question is: Does this merit anything beyond ten years in the cellar from today? My guess: probably not. Whatever the case, the pleasure factor is certainly worth the relatively modest tariff. 94-95.
Fabulous! Dark crimson color. Silky, sensual aromatics of black cherry liquere, blackberry and eucalyptus. Fruit forward on the palate with black cherry dominant, along with notes of cranberry, cassis, chocolate and mint. Mouth filing. Nicely integrated. Warm, rich finish. Extraordinary!

Deep, dark reddish-purple in color, essentially opaque. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe dark fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & black currants with overtones of earthy/dusty & dark cocoa notes, spices, anise, black tea, minerals, vanilla & a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush & unctuous, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with dark cocoa, spices, earthy, minerals, vanilla & a hint of toasty oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but definitely needs & will benefit from additional time to develop to its full potential. An indicative blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Petit Verdot.
Crushed lava, black currant, Oolong tea, sweet basil, dried earth and raw steak. Velvety tannins and a very present middle palate; the finish is like a swift knife that cuts right through. Deeply concentrated, there is still evident finesse. My favorite Oreno since the illustrious ‘13. This definitely beckons the cellar for a long haul. Glorious. Drink 2022 -.

Tasted at a Kobrand event in NYC....I would pretty much exactly agree with "Burgundy Al" this has a lot of promise but far from ready. Classic flavors of black plum, cassis and black cherry. Needs a good bit of time to begin to integrate and show its "stuff" but very promising.

Kobrand Tour Italia (Peninsula Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Black cherry, black plum and cassis with some wood spice that will benefit from a few years to better integrate. Tuscan Tasting (Zachy's DC): Lots of aromatics: roses, violets, plums, rich black cherries, smoke. Chewy and bold but balanced, shows plums and black currants with cola, coffee, cocoa, anise, cedar – rich in flavor but nuanced and suave as well. Obviously a long time ahead.

Molesini Wine shop tasting (Cortona AR): CS from the first sniff, there is balance, precision and focus – aromas and body, very well integrated oak – I see the balance as the advantage here and the promise for long life ahead.

Easy old world nose
Leather, saddle bags , and earthiness as well
Still young
Good tannins, hint of coffee and cinnamon
Needs to open up but should be gorgeous with meat

Dark, purple/ruby colour. Closed, concentrated nose. Dark, muscular palate; firm, chewy finish. Needs time.

Zachy's Extravaganza (Longview Gallery - Washington, DC): Wow, this was fantastic. Super earthy and spicy aromatics with rich cherry, cedar, tobacco. So silky and velvety texture but serious grip and freshness for the cellar. Deep, rich, vibrant, complex – a really good one to forget about for five to eight to ten years.

Very powerful with good concentration and structure, getting close to harmony. No longer includes Sangiovese, which now goes into Vigna dell 'Impero. Best 2025-.
