Dark cherry and smoke bouquet. Dark cherry entry and mid-palate. Still has a firm backbone. Long aftertaste. This wine will continue to age at least 2-3 more years.

Youthful dark magenta-ruby in color. Coravined. After about 1 h in the glass shows beautiful aromas of high-toned florals, red berries, indian spices (like cinnamon) and hint of mint. A silky smooth palate shows sweet and savory red berries, good acidity, fully resolved tannins and a long perfumed finish.

Deep garnet with no fading on the rim. Some dusty tannins upon opening that are less noticeable after 30 min. Still not giving much on the nose after an hr but a great balance of fruit and acid with enough tannin to pare well with salmon and filet . Easy to see this plateauing for another 5+ yrs in a cool cellar.

Dark ruby red in color. Intriguing aromas of dark red fruits interlaced with meat, hint of red florals and herbs. Medium-bodied palate shows a mix of more sour/less sweet dark red fruits, savory hung meat & herbs, medium acidity, hint of astringent tannins and a medium smoky finish.

Popped and poured. Deep garnet, turning brick-red. Lots of red fruit and cerise on the nose, with a hint of cedar. Full-bodied, rounded and textured in the mouth, tannins well-integrated and a medium-length, but silky finish. So smooth and drinking well now. For what this cost en-primeur, amazing value for money !

Two of these in the last two weeks, one mine one Phil's. Perfectly pleasant Burgundy but a bit undemanding and really, for the cost of Burgundy today, you're hoping for a bit more than that. Seemed fully ready but in no imminent danger of deterioration.

Purchased on release. Dark, clear red in color. Dusty, red roses on the nose. Fresh plums on the palate. Very long on the finish. I saved half of the bottle for the next night, and it was just as delicious then. I rarely drink Beaune wines (I prefer the flavors of the Cote de Nuits), but this wine is one of those in which a good producer, in a good year, makes a wine from a Beaune Premier Cru that makes me happily return for the next sip.

Colour holding up well, some bricking at rim; a velvety, easy going bouquet, still shows some soft red fruit, spiced; supple yet sturdy, refreshing acidity, straightforward; decent finish - long. Fully ready, with little or nothing more to be added.

Funky on nose and palate when first opened. Over time the funk disappeared, but fruit never emerged. Boring, boring, Boring ! Drinkable, barely, is the best that could be said. Very earthy
Vegetal aromatically -- like freshly-cut asparagus. Not the worst aroma ever, and certainly not off-putting like some 2004's, but fairly surprising for the vintage. Better on the palate. Quite red-fruited and acidic. Very minerally as well. Likely better in 3-5 years.

Decanted 1 hour. Flowers, cherries and some spice on the nose. Clean and pure smell, medium intense. Red fruits (mostly strawberries) on the palate. Still strong acidity, maybe a bit leaner style. Mouthwatering. Integrated oak. A playful finish. Has the structure to last 7-10 more years.

Not much of a nose. Thin with light body and flavor. Some minerality and earthiness, but not enough to rate this as a representative wine of the 2005 Burgundy vintage. It is a shame that a person would have to spend boodles of money just to acquire a decent wine from Burgundy. I have 3 more bottles of the 2005 Beaune Theurons . Maybe they will improve with more time. I am hoping.
Cherry red colour, little or no bouquet, certainly not complex or exciting in any way. Not a lot better on the palate, thin, little fruit and mean with a short finish. Typical of many overpriced red burgundies I'm afraid. Will it improve ? I doubt it but will give it a couple more years cellaring to see how it matures further.

In a tasting with 2005 Moillard Pommard-Epenots 2005 Etude Deer Camp Pinot and 2005 Jadot Beaune Theurons. Pleasant nose. Well balanced. Cherry and other dark fruits. No graphite or "dirt" here. Not distinguishing relative to others.

Paired with Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the traditional trimmings. A very nice Burgandy. Just the right balance of fruit and earthiness. Enjoyed with Ardis and Beth and Bill. A good choice for dinner.

Samma som tidigare. Helt OK Bourgogne för priset. Lite väl ekat, inte på väg någonstans utan ett helt ok vin som passar till stekt fisk eller fet fågel. Funkar även som sippvin till lite ost en regnig sommardag...

Took it to David's for an impromptu catch up over wine. Opened (without decanting) for approx 30 mins before drinking. A light strawberry red colour, actually lighter than the Beaujolais we had before. A very pretty nose which was floral and red fruits. Tasted young - good structure, decent acidity with nice balance of red fruits without being a fruit bomb. Tannins very much still in evidence and its dry. Would love to try the next one (in a few years, 3-5 yrs) with food, reckon a nice piece of duck, game or a strong seasoned chicken. Been wanting to drink and learn more about Burgundy - this is a nice encouragement to continue.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Raspberries on the nose. Slightly tangy with good acidic bite. This wine activates both the top and bottom of the tongue. This is my first experience with Red Burgundy other than a dead bottle of 1996 Nuits St. George and I am definitely curious to learn more.

Intense aromas of maraschino cherry (that avoids being candied), rose petal, gunflint and flinty earth. Strict and serious on the palate with its gunflint edginess and earthy tones. Long, racy finish. Very promising and in need of another 5 years.

Nose: Dark cherries, dusty strawberries, raspberries, toasted oak, sarsaparilla. Palate: Cherries and strawberries on the attack. Lots of bright, sweet, and acidic berries overall. Lots of sarsaparilla, good dose of tannins, acidity, and cherries on the mid-palate. Loads of acidity on the finish along with some lingering minerality and red berries. Overall, developing very nicely from the last time I had it.

Nose: Black pepper, sage, cherries, blackberries. Palate: Good fruit, cherries, powdered strawberries, bramble on the attack. Vibrant acid and a hint of zesty tannins on the mid-palate through to the medium to long finish. Tasty and refreshing with abundant acid, ample fruit, though lacking a little in complexity.

This is a sub $40 beauty. I loved how the aromatics blended complexity and subtlety. Slightly toasty. Lit bits of cinnamon spice followed by just enough earthy funk. By the end of the night the nose was showing more oak. The wine hits your mouth with a burst of cranberry and lemonade. Lots of berry flavors. Not shy on oak but I thought it fit nicely. Long finish with strong tannins keeping it all together. This should age just fine. It will be hard for me to keep my hands off them but I am going to let my other bottles sleep.

At the price point, I loved this wine. Did not live up to the complexity of some of the bigger Jadot's, but definitely has some character. It had a very strong cherry flavor, with a hint of something else that I couldn't place. Great nose and a finish that had a little bite of the tannins. I think it could benefit from a little cellar time though.
