Maybe not the most complex Bedrock ever but it's delicious and very easy to drink right now. Big brambly fruit but balanced with the acidity. To me this is a 'drink now' as i dont know if there's much upside. Pop one and enjoy it for what it is!

Tannins have faded, very fruit forward still. Opened up well over a few hours and the last glass was enjoyed 48 hours later after being under vacuum and was great.

Quick decant. Nose shows blackberry, boysenberry, vanilla, and white pepper. On the palate, rich purple fruits start sweet then turn dry and tart, adding lots of black fruit flesh and a light sage component. Thick dark fruits and fluffy tannins fade quickly into blueberries and lingering minerals. A fun drinker but it seemed to fail to fully develop.
Big and brambly, but if cassis, a bit on the dark fruited side, low tannins and acid, alcohol is notable, long finish, a bit syrupy and raisined nice on its own but compared to other bedrocks this would be on the bottom of the list.

PnP. Noes of blackberry, black raspberry along with fresh thyme and sorrel. Black raspberry with hard candy, sassafras, lavender riding across plum and earth. Ripe blackberry, chewy tannins, ash, earth, and a long oak note on the finish. Delicious and in a sweet spot.

“From own-rooted vines planted in 1906 in the signature Delhi Sands of Oakley. Farmed by Bedrock in concert with Manuel Carranza, who has tirelessly worked on the ranch for over two decades.”
Chocolatey and dark fruited, surprisingly low acidity, a bit heavy with a rich pork belly dish. After some time, it did pick up a bit of a bright note. Not sure if this was just my palate or if it’s in an awkward place or if it’s just a low acid wine. 88 pts

Dark crimson in color. 14% ABV. Fantastic nose of red and black fruits, pepper and flowers. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity. Plush, silky and well balanced. Blackberry, black raspberry, anise and pepper on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. The wine has a high percentage of Petite Sirah and the structure is notable. This will age well. My first Pato from Bedrock but certainly not my last. Best over the next 4-6 years.

Notes from Day 2: Nose has cherry cola, black tea, sweet vanilla, light florals. This all carries nicely to the palate. Mild tannin and moderate acid. Medium length finish with that black tea coming through.
This was much darker and bolder day 1. I much prefer the experience today.

Nose of black cherry cola dusty earth and black pepper. Taste of black currant, dark raspberry, black tea and of sharpness i call graphite. Really intriguing wine. Lots of black/purple but also some real lift that makes for a winning combo. Not quite like anything else I've had in the Bedrock arsenal. I wouldn't call it elegant, yet it had lots of layers and was a great drink.

When I was rummaging around for a bottle to open, I spied this Bedrock and focused on Contra Costra County on the label, leading me to initially pull back, thinking this was from Evangelho Vineyard, which at least the last bottle, was tannic and a bit astringent. This is Pato Vineyard ahh! I was reminded of how much I enjoyed Kent Rosenblum's Pato zinfandels in the past, RIP. This, like Kent Rosenblum's Pato wines, is delicious. A complex, multi-layered, smooth, hearty, deep purple wine that makes me smile. 14.0% alcohol. Satisfying. Pato Vineyard grows superb grapes and Morgan Twain Peterson makes superb wines.

Broadly consistent with my note from April 2019. The wine was very different over two nights. The first night was all about big fruit - blueberry with some spice. By the second night, the wine had evolved and come together in a much deeper, more integrated whole, with darker fruit predominating. Of the two, I preferred night 2, so my conclusion is to try a long decant whenever possible.

Pop n pour and let sit for an hour to get some air. Dusty, earthy, with aroma of freshly crushed stone. Straight forward dark fruit, boysenberry, marionberry, black pepper spice. Mouth drying texture that I attribute to acid rather than tannin because it’s very up front. Then the young tannins kick in and cut the fruit off in an abrupt finish. Recork and check back in the next evening. Day 2, a musty kinda mildew-like funk on the nose. Fruit is still walled off and the palate is pretty shut down. Petite has taken over for the most part. The berry fruit from yesterday is hidden and it’s showing some heat and bitterness on the finish. I mean there’s some fruit there but this should be showing more complexity based on what’s in it and it’s still just straight forward. Not sure what to make of this wine. Perhaps it just needs more time. I won’t be in a hurry to open my other bottle.
Initial pop and pour but ultimately consumed over two days; the nose explodes right off the pour with big blue and purple fruit; perfumed and layered with exotic spices; on the palate, the fruit was forward and perfectly ripe and fresh; more savory than sweet; tannins are still firm and somewhat gritty so give it some air; plenty of acid to help maintain the structure and draw you back for another sip.
The blend of fruit from this Heritage vineyard is really well done and not like the other Heritage wines. I see people referring to Zin in other reviews but I get more Petitie, Carignan and Mataro here. The Zin may be there and offer some of the sweetness and acid structure but this drinks more Rhone to me. Not so much the "meatiness" but more stone/mineral, lavender, smoke and black tea. On Day 2, the palate did exhibit more of an "animalistic" profile that I expect from Petitie and Carignan but not considerably different from Day 1.
This was one of the more profound Bedrocks for me (and I've had plenty) and further confirms how great MTP is at his craft. Great value to be had here.
This was great! Full of fruit, some earth (especially after some air) and this kept getting better the more air it got. Juicy acidity is an obvious plus. Too bad I only had one!

Corked. No real fruit going on. Even though I'm not getting a distinct corked smell, my wife is. Her TCA threshold is lower than mine. Bummer, as this is the only bottle I had.
Exactly one year since the last bottle, to the day. Same impression as last bottle - this would be really excellent if it wasn’t for the tiring sweetness and velvet smoothie that leaves one yearning for a bit more freshness. Everything beneath it is lovely - high toned bramble berry, blue fruit, minerals. Not a repeat buy for me.

Lush blue and red fruits, with a sweet cherry/cream soda quality to the nose and palate. Cola, vanilla, clove, espresso, violets. A bit tight despite all that and could use a couple years.
