Two weeks in France; 4/12/2024-4/24/2024: Off the list at Le Cerisier. Much more open than my first bottle three years ago. Rich, broad nose and mouth feel with brioche, citrus and pear notes. Very 2013 Chardonnay which is right up my alley; brilliant drive and salinity. Another one of those very complete wines with a lot of everything. Lucky to have gotten the last bottle, not sure if it is worth the current prices but a steal at 145€.

This wine is massive. After a couple hours the bead was still quite persistent and the fruit, primarily pear, Macintosh apple, and a touch of marzipan coated the palate nicely. This mammoth wine is absolutely tremendous. Not for the faint of heart. I have a couple magnums stashed away that will be off limits for an easy decade. 750ml bottles should be held for a few more years. Killed this bottle by myself over 4 hours and it only got better!

Bucket List tasting at Wijnkoperij Okhuysen: With many Champagnes once one looks past the effervescence and the acidity, one will discover a Burgundy-type richness. This is definitely not the case with Les Chétillons, whose crisp minerality and freshness are as precise as they are endless.
Abundant aroma's of limestone and brioche (hard to determine where one ends and the other starts). Lemon, even a hint of melon.
The wine starts out smooth on the palate, leading to a pulsating crescendo of acidity and (surprisingly) a hint of bitterness. The wine is direct and singular, as if it's actively and consciously trying to get its message of freshness across.
What a great way to start a legendary tasting!
Would love to revisit in a few years.

Nice nose of brioche, pear, citrus and autolyse. Very fine effervescence.
Structured on the palate, the wine acts like a funnel: very broad at the beginning, textured and surprisingly rich for a Blanc de Blancs (we can regret that the back label is so stingy with information), but above all still very young with an aroma of citrus fruits. and brioche. Then the wine becomes traceable, on an imperturbable balance, with wet stone and mineral salts. Beautiful and big chalky finish.
Excellent

(deg 03/20) Ung, men öppnar upp sig fint i glaset efterhand. Kalkig krita, vita blommor, citrus, mandel, nybakat bröd. Texturen och strukturen i munnen är underbar. Oerhört fräsch och krispig. En precis syra med nerv kombinerat med krämig touch ger en härlig upplevelse. Elektrisk balans. Vibrerar av energi. Lång finish. Lovely!

Absolutely delightful overall. High quality acidity, floral, powerful, very light touch of oak, and a mix of fruits that was a bit difficult for me to identity (I don't drink champagne often), although not used to the texture of the beads, yet with the right food this can truly shine. A shame these are so expensive now.

Blanc de Blancs over lunch (Summer Pavilion, Ritz Carlton, Singapore): Served blind, this felt way too young, but it was clear even then that it was a lovely Champagne. The nose was quite attractive, with notes of bread and fleshy apples, along with a notes of daisies and talcum powder. It was fresh, lively and pure on the palate, very Blanc des Blancs in character, with a fine mousse and fine acidity framing elegant notes of lemons and fresh apples. There was then a little line of mineral moving into a fine-boned finish that carried just a suggestion of ginger flowers. Very fresh, lively, and fine. An elegant Champagne in line with the best of the 2013s - this should age effortlessly well.

I am surprised that this wine isn’t receiving higher scores… yes, this will continue to improve, but it’s drinking very well right now. Truly a benchmark Blanc de Blancs.
Creamy aroma, almost like ice cream, with notes of apple, yeast, dried flowers and vanilla. Very complex.
Full, dense flavor with notes of apple skins, lemon, lime, peach, tangerine, grapefruit, and red cherry pits. Precise chalky mineral finish.
Well integrated with fine bubbles, electric acidity, and a great texture. Drink or hold. Bottle 2/6.

The quality was immediately evident. Ready to go from the first pour, with some additional development over two hours. Moderate nose of salty biscuit and lemon/lime. Moderate+ flavors of lemon, salty biscuit, a hint of grapefruit bitterness but it wasn’t a detractor. Lots of energy. Moderate+ complexity/finish. Drinkable now with nothing but upside. 93-96.

Fairly linear today but packed with a serious punch. Lemon zest, yeasty deliciousness, very bright and broad but packed up today. This is a massive potential from here but is still quite good. I’d wait 3-5 years to pop the next one and it will be glorious. Many points of upside from here

From Magnum. Did not catch disgorgement date. Still very young, but pure Chetillons goodness. Just vibrant, and fairly linear nose with loads of citrus and soft vanilla. Fantastic density, soft mousse. Already stunning, but will deepen with age.

A birthday / farewell: Wanted to get an early check-in on a case of this. First time having Pierre Peters Chetillons and it definitely lived up to its pedigree. Nose is a little reticent at the start, had some evidence of oak use. With time it became more expressive and aromatic with oxidative notes. Seamless on the palate and had a lovely drive although the finish is a little sweet. Fine mousse that is not coarse at all, this has immense potential and was finished in no time between two people.

A smooth sailing 93 pts. Highly structured from start to finish with an ever present mineral core followed By a long finish of citrus fruits. Dusty chalk shows from start to end. Full bodied without the toasty notes of a typical blanc de blanc

Coincidentally trying this for the second time in a month. Initially it was closed down with high acid and lemon citrus. With air, it really does express some pretty fruits, and - to me, the signature of Chetillon - that chalky/minerality. Lovely lovely stuff.

Nose: The nose is pristine, aromatic, fresh, and vibrant with a bit of nuance to the tones of pears, red and green apples, lemon peels, white fruits, peaches, quince, saline, ginger, crushed rocks, biscuits, warm dough, and a touch of baking spices. This shows all of the complexity that the 2012 possesses, but with a more subtle side that really draws you in.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity. Even though there is a lot of youthful verve to the acidity, it’s fairly integrated and balanced already. The feel is regal and deep with pears, red and green apples, lemon peels, white fruits, peaches, saline, ginger, crushed rocks, biscuits, and some warm dough.
Overall: I really don’t know how I will be able to keep my hands off of this to let it age properly. This is flat out gorgeous with a lot of freshness, balance, and salinity that pretty much sums up all of the things I love about Les Chetillons. Simply put, this is a stellar bottling and a very worthy champagne to have in one’s collection.

Peach and citrus up front, then this wave of chalky, saline, minerality hits and doesn't stop for several minutes. Broad core and very long taper, steely mineraliness lingering for days. Beautiful with oysters and other raw seafood.

Great tension, focus and precision with a sharp acid spine and intense minerality. But it’s a bit too linear and one dimensional for my taste and it finishes pretty abruptly. Also not much going on atomically. Still too young, I gather. Drink ‘11 even though it’s not the best vintage while you wait for ‘12 and ‘13.

Incredible acidity and a sort of cool marine influence that paired well with caviar. Give this a few hours to unfurl in the bottle before drinking. Super elegant, tiny bubbles. White blossom floral note, flint and sea shell minerality, and a touch of toast all frame the fruit nicely. Fruit profile is tangy with incredible, long-lasting, grippy acidity that lingers literally for several minutes. Honeydew, cantaloupe, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon zest, tangerine and nectarine. Will be even better in 3-5 years.

Super complex, almost indescribable aroma with notes of toasty lemon, red apple, vanilla, honeysuckle, white flowers, and some rich candy notes. Deep lemon curd, ripe red apple, pineapple and tropical fruit flavors with a toasty finish. Tons of minerality. Very fine bubbles result in a wonderful texture.
This wine is light, ethereal, uplifting and laser focused. I can’t stop smelling and drinking it — what a masterpiece!
Hold (patience will be rewarded), but it’s also pretty exceptional today.

Opened the day prior, portioned into a small flask by a generous friend.
Rapidly disappearing bubbles, a delicate bead. Faint slate straw color. Nose delicate florals, some honey. Hint of wax and brioche. Palate some green apple, stony. Lovely depth, a lemony flavor. Less richness than the 12, more linear, very young still but obvious potential for the future, wouldn't open another bottle for a few years yet. 92 pts with upside

Intense lemon fruit with some green apple and grilled nuts too. It is super-fine and compact, with loads of chalk and great cut to the finish.

Densely packed with loads of citrus and lime. Tightly wound that needed lots of air. Gains a chalky minerality note that's enjoyable. Tasty but should see some cellar time.

Tons of energy, heavy on brioche and lemon. Just way too young, IMO. Needs age to really shine and stand out from the pack.

A nice wine but didn’t wow me. Didn’t feel like a but above a nice VN BdB champagne. Will see how it shows down the road.

Peach and citrus up front, then this wave of chalky, saline, minerality hits and doesn't stop for several minutes. Broad core and very long taper, steely mineraliness lingering for days. Beautiful with oysters and other raw seafood.

1 day upon opening serving into Sy glass (“Flower” day): Pale golden to the eyes.
Florals, a lot of fine citrus fruits like grapefruits.
Very nicely mellow on palate.
94 points.

SLDS March 2021: Pure nose with apple, pear, mineral and sea spray. Delightful palate with fine detail and that same mineral intensity sweeping through. Excellent.

Stellar. Thrilling acidity and length. Absolutely mind boggling minerality - chalk, slightly saline. Opened and softened over 3-4 hours but still showed potential. Stupendous now and better in 3+ years

Liking it more than last bottle, starting to come together. Rich, great depth, lots going on here. 92-93

I smelled it and exclaimed: “oh wow!”

This is lovely, clearly a BdB, with some very precise and pure fruit and some chalk on the finish. I can taste the stone - my type of champagne. Will be better with a bit of age, but lovely now.
