Garnet color in glass, remarkably clear looking throughout. Nose of Kirsch, iron, wet stones and a little bit of red fruit. Flavors of tangy red berries dominate with a hint of minerals on the clipped finish. Tart acidity, resolved tannin, medium body. Drink five years ago.
I recently did an inventory of my cellar and found this bottle that should've been drank about 5-6 years ago. It still had some life in it but very little. If you happen to still have one you better drink it soon and fast and have a backup bottle handy.

Dried cherry and cacao powder nose. Rich mouth with some fruit still remaining. Excellent return of bitter cacao on the finish. This wine has aged really well. In it's youth it was more opulent, but now it has taken on some elegance that wasn't there before.

Slight cherry, chocolate and earth nose becomes all cherry and chocolate in the very rich mid palate and finish that contains sweet wood tannins. Not complex, but delivers what it promises.

Good, solid wine, but I expected more. Seemed to be on the verge of going bad. Got better as it opened up, but still an odd flavor throughout the evening, with a bit of an aftertaste. Possibly just a bad bottle.

This is a pleasant Ripasso style wine. It exhibits typical Amarone type flavors. However, it does lack the depth of its big brothers and is a little boring. It is quite the quaffer though and highly recommended for a house wine or or Tuesday night dinner with pizza. Cheers!

very good on the pop & pour. after a few swirls, the nose opened to monster red fruit.. cherry & raspberry. rather dark in color. nice balance with a soft mouthfeel which transitioned to chocolate covered cherries & sweet cigar box. velvety, strong finish with lingering tannin. really come to like this blend, especially when paired with a rich italian meal! extraordinary QPR here. this can definitely be layed down for 3-5yrs.

My experience with this wine went all over the board. First opening was an excellent drink, needed to breath a little bit. Day 2 was awful, very harsh. Day 2-3 harshness mellowed, but so did the fruit-savory flavors. Day 4 real nice again, just a little less of everything from day 1 (except the level left in the bottle, that was all gone!). First bottle of this wine for me, but my take away is to finish it up as soon as you open it.

Tasted January 16, 2010 at a retail tasting. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, black cherries, talc and a bit of chocolate. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and a dash of plum. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

Veneto - $20 to $40: The groups #2 WOTN. Inky purple in color. The nos has cherries, spice and complexity. Nice texture. On the palate, this is silky, complex with black cherries. Caroline Wine Shop - Italy - Various (Carolines Wine Shop): A deep, thickly coloured black ruby that extends to the rim. Relatively medium in intensity, there is a bouquet of barnyard, feral notes with overripe berries. I suspect that is the style here as the mid-palate opens to more chocolate, blackcurrant drops and plum; more decadent textured and deep flavours. The tannins are ripe and leathery in texture that rises to firmness on the close. Fair length, it wasn't a dynamic but good example.
