Meaty, complex nose, cheese, heaps of barnyard, blood orange, tangerine, and strawberry. More blood orange and juicy golden peach on the palate, and a pretty rose-gold color. Damn that's funky! In a good way, like an andouillette, you just can't stop sniffing. Slowly though, the funk fades in glass, and is replaced with more peach and a light rose petal, along with cantaloupe and watermelon candy. And yet... it still smells a bit like hogshit, in a good way. I swear I mean that in a good way.

It was clear from the start that the 2021 Tempier Rosé needed more time than usual, and in its third year it is starting to deliver. The reduction, quite marked at release, has receded considerably, and the customary fruity (watermelon, strawberry, peach, cantaloupe melon) and floral aromas are really starting to shine; the palate displays succulent fruit (especially at a slightly elevated temperature - I recommend it), and the minerally energy, balance (13% ABV) and silky elegance are impeccable; convincing and complete finish with very good length. An excellent vintage for Tempier Rosé. Glad to have a full case left for summer 2024, and it will certainly age well if there is anything left by autumn...

I’ve enjoyed this wine before, it’s nice balance between a dry and yet fruit forward wine. Somehow was not showing so well today: definitely some peach and melon but no structure, felt like a cheap rose. Still have a few bottles, let’s see if this is a one off.

Medium salmon in the glass, developing, intense aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit, orange fruit and rind, orange oil, passionfruit, black tea, bergamot, melon, salted strawberry, melon rind; green, bitter herbs, mineral, some sour-yeastiness (sourdough). In the mouth, flavor matches aromas, dry wine, med + acid, med alcohol, med body, pronounced on the palate, med + finish. Overall, very good- things are starting to become interesting here- wine is still fruity and youthful- drink now, has the potential for aging 3-7yrs (for me)

Lovely Rosé. Not much nose, though you get faint citrus and white fruit notes. The taste, however, is excellent. Apple, white peach, with the perfect amount of acidity - light and refreshing on the palate - with a medium finish. It ends with fine, colorless crystals lining the glass. Combined with the peach rose color, this is an experience not to be missed.Best paired with very mildly flavored cheese or accompaniments.

Not much I can add to my previous notes. Excellent rose! I always think I should hold on to a bottle or two to see how they will show with some real age, but I generally find I prefer the fresh new vintages over those with several years so it never happens. This might be my last bottle of this vintage, and it is drinking great.

Wow the best rose ever! This is a classy ample delicious wine with lovely dry silky a bit saline garriguey peachy, rose petal notes, nice chalky minerality+freshness, fantastic elegance+excellent length and nice alcohol at 12.5%. Is intensely aromatic too! 92/93. On day two this is a 93!
Beautiful. Delivers nice strawberry, herb and red currant notes with a great mouthfeel that is slightly viscous. Nice acidity keeps it very lively, and the summery fresh flavors are delicious. The standard bearer for Bandol rose once again.

Finally got to taste The Pibarnon and Tempier 2021s side-by-side for a direct comparison. The Tempier as expected was the crowd favorite. Both are good, but the Pibarnon was more acidic/sour vs. the Tempier which was a little smoother/creamier. With presumably no oak involved for either, I guessed maybe the Tempier goes through malo and the Pibarnon doesn't, but from what I found online, both actually do malo.

Aromas of orange peel, strawberry, raspberry, mineral and hint of cinnamon. Flavirs of strawberry, cherry, lime, watermelon and mineral. Ends with a 20-25 second finish with cherry and lime notes. Expensive but consistently the top Rose for me.

Very good, pnp, next time will try opening earlier to see what difference it makes per other notes. Opened an Until 2021 rose from grenache/mourvedre right after, it was good but sharper (more acidic?) and definitely #2 vs the Tempier.

So much better on day 2. Day 1 the fruit was a bit tight and reserved and, as mentioned in earlier review, overpowered some by the herbal notes. On day 2, the fruit was fully open and really a fantastic and perfect rose.
Best served on the warmer side.

Needs a little time to open up; initially it’s a little flabby and round but it tightens up with air. Nose is sea spray, watermelon rind, ripe cherries. Palate is full bodied, more watermelon rind, strawberry candy. Not my favorite vintage of Tempier right now but maybe it just needs time.

I always enjoy this rose. Despite the premium over our other favorite roses, I usually think it is worth it.
This one didn’t wow me like it usually does. The edges have rounded just a little. Still it is delicious. I generally like my roses young and full of energy, but I may put aside a bottle to see what happens with some age.

Always a perfect rosé. Rose petals, orange peel, fresh white peach, fresh melons, sea spray, brine, mediterranean scrub on the nose. High intensity of aromas. The flavors are pretty consistent with the aromas, and the palate is just as intense as the nose. There is a creaminess/dairy flavor on the palate that is missing from the nose too.
Medium + body with medium acid and a nice long finish. Silky and rounded wine. Excellent pairing with almejas preperadas and yellowtail crudo. You could pair it with cooked seafood, poultry or pork just as easily.
These can actually age. I've had them show beautifully up to 7 years old, even though this is quite lovely at 2.

Medium salmon colour. Red fruit, raspberry, strawberry, oranges, peaches, and herbal notes, with good acidity and very good persistence. Medium-bodied, and well-balanced, with a creamy texture. Beautiful. A great rosé!
Rose's on the Deck (For a Time): A Summer Party -2nd Edition (Matt and Brenda's, Minneapolis, MN): Light pink color. Small glass. Still a bit youthfully precocious, very fresh and lively, super acidity, drinking great, number two of the night. This seems a great vintage for this wine (first bottle of six) - creamy yet crisp, and with superb delineation. The nose is a real fruit salad (raspberry coulis drizzled over watermelon?), and the fruit on the palate is wonderfully tangy. Seriously delicious!

A half bottle a year on. Colour: pale salmon pink, bright, clear. Nose: full, fresh, at fist lactic in an unpleasant way, slightly subdued, ok fruit. Taste: light body, rounded, good balance if almost opulent, good varietal fruit, long finish, q intense. Overall, impressive for a half bottle a year on.

A Rose blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault (55/25/20%). Medium salmon pink color in the glass with mild aromas of raspberries, strawberries and lemon. On the palate, somewhat disappointing flavor notes mirroring the wines aromas as the wine flavors were best described as “flat”. Acidity is good with finish acceptable. For the price ($59.00 at WA), there are better Rose’s in my opinion.

Had a glass before going out to dinner yesterday and another just now. Best served a bit on the warm side as the cold numbs the beautiful fruit flavours and the herbal side takes over.
My earlier bottle was closed down a bit and this one is much improved, although I think it will improve with more time. No hurry on my remaining three bottles.
A really lovely wine with nice fruit flavor and mineral and herbal accents.
(Editing to add that day 3 was the best and it went really well with our salmon dinner)

A private lunch with friends (at home): First bottle of the new vintage. Very young, really tight and energetic, quite reduced, slender and cool, bright and crisp, grippy bitters, all the aromatic elements are in place but this needs time. Not sure that this will be ready for the summer of 2023 - we may have to wait for another year - or two. Unsurprisingly, better on the second day, more open, more fruit expression.

All the umph out of a 375. So beautiful as always and always through the genetic pathway of tradition and elegance. This doesn't impresses through interesting swerves and grooves. It's absolute classic. What all other Rose' aims to be. Drink at at room temp for sublime texture. Strawberry raspberry peach concentrations.
So primary right now, that I think I'll let these other bottles hang out until the Spring time before I touch another bottle. Damn good! Especially with homemade enchiladas. wow.

Pale pink, verging on the peachy. Fruity, fresh and delicous, with enough substance to keep a few years. Tasted at the Domaine just outside Bandol. 2021 crop well down (c40%) with very small berries, but 2022 volumes are much healthier. €25 inc tax at the cellar door.

WOW! This is great. Crazy flavor intensity of citrus and stone fruit with juicy refreshing acidity. The concentration of fruit is remarkable for a rose. Drinking very well and would love to taste this bottle with a few years of bottle age. It has the fruit concentration and acid structure to age. Yes it is a bit pricey $<$50 but definitely a bottle you must try.
As usual, the greatest pound-for-pound bringer of liquid pleasure to our household. It's not that it's a meditative or transcendental wine... it's just very very pleasing cross the board.
This vintage at this time was showing more fruit flavors than I normally get from Tempier: Peach, nectarine, raspberry, ruby red grapefruit, watermelon, grenadine.

Light clear pink - cotton candy ( sans any obvious resid sugar however ) strawberry and watermelon - clean and delicious though a bit pricey even here on the Cote d’Azur as we continue our examination of the regions offerings.

Strawberry, melon, some salinity, finishes fairly quick on lower acidity. Not as intense as some previous vintages. This is delicious, and, at $50+, maybe not the best value this year... I'd just rather have 2x bottles of Bedrock's Ode to Lulu at that same price...

After my variable experience with the 2020, how does this year fare? 13% ABV. Presumably c. 50% Mourvèdre w balance of Grenache and Cinsault. Here the Grenache dominates! Colour: salmon pink, slightly fluorescent, bright, clear. Nose: full, fresh, ripe good fruit Taste: light/med body, intense, good fruit and structure, rounded, long finish, ripe, almost opulent, Overall, very good, complex Provence rosé.

Best rose in the world? Maybe. This was lovely. The creamy soft floral character is what makes it so nice. Good fruit and well judged acidity. 4

Intense marks of citrus, strawberry and chalk. Slightly more complex than a year ago, but still razor sharp and precise. Very impressive as usual, and a long life ahead.

An expressive rose with notes of citrus, minerals and herbs. a medium salmon color with nice balance and acidity. I look forward to enjoying more of this wine over the summer.

Nose: full, fresh, ripe good fruit
Taste: light/med body, intense, good fruit and structure, rounded, long finish, ripe, almost opulent,
Overall, very good, complex Provence rosé.
