Cedar, petrichor, mint, red and black cherry, some cassis and dark fruit on the nose. In the mouth, high acid but really nice, discreet tannins. Juicy yet airy mouthfeel.
Creamy oak (unintegrated?), cigar box/espresso. Subtle nuances of spices, red and black fruit. Lacks a long finish, but some glimpses of a mineral thread and truffle. Very austere and not ready to drink.
Lagrange is my benchmark wine and this falls under it.

Bright, crisp, red berries accompanied by cedar, mint and tobacco notes that show all over the place is what you find here. Medium-bodied, fresh, and forward, this is probably the earliest drinking Langoa I recall tasting. The bottle is adorned by a one-time-only special label that commemorates the families 200 years of ownership, which is an amazing and beautiful accomplishment that deserves recognition in todays, ever-changing world. Congratulations to the Barton family. The wine blends 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2025-2048.

2025-2045. (Verkostet im November 2023 in Zürich bei UGCB)

What lovely clarity and poise this shows; cherry, raspberry, lilac. A little reserved in the mouth but really pretty, building and expanding rapidly. Better and better as I write the nose. 93-94

UGC 2021 Bordeaux (Vibiana, Los Angeles, CA): The nose is elegant with balanced tones of dark red cherries, cranberries, currants, herbal spices, violets, tobacco leaf, and some leather notes. While there is good fragrance to the nose, it does lack some depth. The Medium bodied feel is well balanced and elegant with medium acidity and silky, medium tannins. This is an elegant and refined wine. There is good balance across the nose and palate but it does lack some depth on both.

Peppery spices, herbs, and red currants come through on the nose and palate. This is a solid example of classic, medium/full-bodied, Bordeaux focused on its bright, crisp, red fruits, freshness, and peppery spice in the endnote. The wine blends 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. For Langoa Barton, a wine that normally takes quite a bit of time to be fun to drink, you can enjoy this quite early. Fans of Langoa Barton should take note that the wine will be released with a special, one-off label commemorating 200 years of ownership by the Barton Family! Drink from 2025-2047. 90-92

En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Medium minus intensity aromas of black hued fruits, slight pyrazine, a little clay. It’s juicy, fleshy, the fruit persists beneath the slight coarse talc textured tannins, medium plus length, balanced, lightweight. Okay.

UGCB Amsterdam, walkaround tasting so just short notes.: Elegant and friendly, good fruits, round tannin, the finish is a bit short.
