I think I caught this just before oxidation could get to it first. Richer deeper nose with very light carbonation. Honeysuckle, apricot, and faint caramel on the nose. Every 5th whiff was richer than the other four. Nougatty touch on the palate still with surprising zip and freshness. Held up well and enjoyed the drink

From a 750. Holding up well, decent carbonation. Not the most complex, but good acidity and lemon/lime citrus notes, pretty linear and focused. Obviously some nutty characteristics from long aging, but still relatively fresh. Good.
May hold up for a couple years more, but I'd suggest drinking it. No disgorgement date noted but I've held it since 2010.

Last of a couple of cases of this, and sad to see it go. LP's house style is a center of the plate pitch for my palate - nicely balanced, not overly tart, nice touch of oak. Might have to look into more recent vintages, but suspect I won't find the same $38 deal I got on this.

Excellent. Rounded in nose and body, with acidity folded into the wine. Yet no impressions of overly mature or tired. A bit of toast and for me just the right amount of sweetness / creaminess. Served chilled on a warm Summer evening, in celebration of the announcement of Mrs. Swade's pregnancy. So I had an extra glass to cover her share. Pale, white gold color. My impression of this wine makes me wonder a bit about bottle variation given some of the recent notes below, as I quite like this. This will be a "go to" bottle when I'm in the mood for something a bit on the lighter side, with good crispness and precision. I find this to be very well balanced with good acidity. Lacks the sweetness and fullness of body of some, but on some days, that's a good thing. At $39 per bottle, this was a steal.

This has nice round apply flavours with a biscuity sweetness that suits my palate, but ultimately this is a bit disappointing, QPR-wise. There's a slightly flabby middle in the mouth, lacking some acidity I think, almost a malty taste that didn't quite work.

Young and energetic champagne. While the nose and palate exude notes of underripe berries, flavors of young apples and pears emerge and dominate. At age twelve, this wine is playful but undeveloped. Does not have the backbone to mature into what the same wine from the 1996 vintage has become. Enjoyable to drink for what it is but don't expect this to develop into anything formidable with time.

Symmetry Dinner (Table 66, Tras Street): Much better than the last bottle I thought. While still very young, this had really opened up to show quite a bit of quality and potential. Extremely vigorous, but fine bead bubbled away in the glass. Nice nose. Started off with straw, nuts and caramel, along with fruity citrus tones of grapefruit and pomelo, before more typical Laurent-Perrier toffee-nut and burn caramel and earthy mineral started emerging. Palate was juicy, with plenty of bright acidity running through more lemony, grapefruit notes. A bit tight, with a dry, structured spine rather dominating at first. However, with time, it unfurled to show some complexity with dried fruits, kumquats and limes, and a longish finish with plenty of earthy, chalky mineral. A bit rough at the moment, this needs some time yet, but it has all the right elements to make a really nice vintage brut in years to come.

nose - champagne. Well that's not very helpful is it. Breaking it down further: brisk butter, possibly cream, and a certainty that champagne is in the glass. mouth - Kabooom acid explosion. And its gorgeous, yet totally monolithic, and way way way out of balance. True to place, makes me believe more in the concept of terroir. Worth buying just to sample, but i dont think i''l be casually recommending it to friends. Perhaps what it needs is to sleep 20 years in the bottle but there is no guarantee that it will soften up. Not a smooth drink, so beware.

National Day Dinner (Kome, Keppel Club): Very decent Champagne without ever bring stunning. Drinking beautifully on the night though. Nose had classic lines of dry biscuit, white pear-like fruit and some toast. Not the most complex palate in the world, but it sure had a wonderfully fine, lacy bead and a refined, classy texture, with a touch of body in its white fruit and lime underpinned by a nice focus and plenty of mineral moving into a long intense finish.

Nice showing for this wine. The bouquet showed good complexity of biscuit, yeast, pear and spice. The aromatics became more complex and integrated with time. The color is correct for its age. The medium bodied palate continued the theme of the bouquet. The wine showed a long, balanced finish. In the glass, the palate gains weight and complexity over time. The wine, on both bouquet and palate strikes a balance between elegance and richness.

nose - champagne.

I don't drink much champagne. I thought this was nice. I found notes of yeast, honey, green apple, and cantaloupe. In the mouth it was lively, balanced, and quaffable.

Champagne Tasting (Wide World of Wines - Washington, DC): Chalky, crisp bouquet. Forward citrus palate. Long finish. Good. No oak. 90+

Blind (against a 96 DP) at Noshers wine with simple food do.
Pale straw with dumb nose but with some tasty notes-reminded us of a NV.
Echoed on palate, light with little fruit but delightful classic LP bubbles. Not really special.
Tasted again after two hours in glass against the DP but had gone flat but DP still lively.

National Day Dinner (Kome): Still consistently showing the same clean crispness with lemon lime, green apples and a light touch of yeasty fresh white bread note. Smooth and lingering mouth puckering finish.

Very citric, looks like lime or even lemon juice. Soft, velvety, refreshing, very weel balanced. The most beautiful perlage I've seen, very constant and thin. Pears, great accidity.

Amazing champagne. Nice pear aromatics, gaining complexity over time. Mid-palate is nicely balanced fruit, acidity and crispness. Finish is long and complex.

plenty of bubbless, rather foamy, persistent green apple...not much body, let's see how it develops further.

I really enjoy this. Granted my experience in Champagne isn't deep, but this has enough nice up-front flavors and enough subtleties to make me love it. Medium weight viscosity on the palate, fine bubbles, a real treat.

Scattered but small tiny moderately streaming bubbles. Touch of yeast on a mostly refreshing green apple peels nose. Taste of beautiful golden apples covered in little crumbs of baked butter bread. Finishes fresh and nicely refreshing! A good introduction for newbies to vintage champagne. How not to like!

Good, but not amazing. There's better QPR in NV champagne that suits my palate. The wine shows thin with very little brioche or toast - great for a warmer day perhaps.

The wine, on both bouquet and palate strikes a balance between elegance and richness.

thick creamy mouthful of bubbles, honey, pear, caramel, light acidity with a bit of biscuit. Also a hint of Captain Crunch Cereal (best description I could think of).
