Mid to dark straw. Relieved to see not premoxed. Has developed quite a bit in the last 2 years - now soft stonefruit against a flint and slightly honeyed background - quite moreish and a nice wine to start lunch with. Won't get better from here. ***+

Totally different bottle. Darker, more tired and borderline premox. Notes of pineapple and tequila-like agave. Thick, not much acid. Luckily, my last one. Sad that Burgundy is not aging like it used to.

Deliciously voluptuous. I cannot believe this is a regional wine. Full bodied, medium acid, unctuous texture, honeyed and citrus flavors. Some mineralogy but this is not Chablis. Reminds me more of Puligny. Excellent bottle.

Deep greenish gold. Rich honeydew melon and tropical fruits. Full, buttery, almost a touch of rot perhaps. Big, citrus, ripe pineapple, nuts. Decent acidity. Came over a little rich, just the vintage I guess. Impressive and amazing size for a BB but I'd prefer more elegance.

Decanted at La Trompette. Was a great partner for our food combinations (fish and chicken/guinea fowl.) It was worth decanting as the wine continued to evolve throughout the evening and opened up. Light to mid yellow and the age was definitely noticeable. Slightly buttered and oak was evident on the nose although well integrated. A fine drink.

Intense nose: peach--pear corrects my 8 yr old, and nails it-- hazelnuts, a little sweat, which blows off; in the mouth, just delicious, focused intense flavors, the fruit ones relatively muted, acid, nuts, mineral, beautiful hint of integrated oak on the long finish. Drinking beautifully right now and as good as it gets at this price and better than much that goes for 2X its roughly$40.00

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Domaine Leflaive (Rodwell House): Mid to deep yellow the aromas show a fine mineral, wet stone and chalk with some tropical fruits (breakfast punch). Pronounced on entry there is a fatness to the mid-palate with armfuls of white peach flesh cut with a mineral-edged acidity. Broad and rich, this feels like a warmer year and lacks the poise and definition of a better site. Slightly oily texture, the flavours are oatmeal, Bircher muesli, lime and oyster shell. More generic with a medium finish.

This wine needs some patience; give it some time in the glass to stretch its legs and open up. Also, don't serve too cold. I found it to be the best a bit above cellar temperature. Golden in color, this was at first mysterious and a brooding, showing little on the nose besides an earthy spiciness and some white pepper. Very little fruit and a slight greenness. I thought it was over the hill and didn't have anything left to give. The palate was closed down too, showing mostly oak and acid. But then, after 15 or 20 minutes in the glass, it started to blossom, and slowly gained lemon and pineapple notes, floral and honey aromas, and a salted nut savory characteristic. The palate, which started out broad and creamy, without much definition, gained flavor and nuance and started to knit itself together, to come into balance. Then it became very complex, with tropical fruit, spices, earth, flowers, salted caramel, and cellar dust, and a long, vibrato finish that holds your attention with bright citrus and earthy spice. The second glass was much better than the first, and performed like a serious white Burgundy. One of the most remarkable in-glass transformation acts I've encountered. Turned from dull and dead-tasting to a vibrant, living wine. I had a lot of fun with this.

Excellent condition, clear, light gold. Honeyed citrus, getting better with increased depth. Fresh butter, some flowers, touch of hazelnut. Medium length. Maybe overpriced but it does deliver. Very enjoyable.

I simply can't get over the quality/price ratio of this wine. This has gotten even better than last bottle, medium to nearly full body, probably something to do with the vintage, gorgeous buttery nose with honey wax, green apple/pear, nutmeg, even a slight wet earth, coming all together in great harmony. The back bone is still very strong promising good years ahead, but very sadly this was my last bottle... Simply gorgeous, and at blind taste, I would not be surprised if people would guess this as a grand cru, which I would be tempted to say as well. If you find it, grab as many as you see!~

Clear mid to light gold, totally healthy. Nice floral and citrus nose. Tons of fine lemon & lime flavours, good mineral acidity, fair body and decent length. Very lively.Touches of butter and honey but not prominent. After a couple of hours it maybe fades a little otherwise a lovely baby P-M.

Great again for the price. Have never been disappointed. Shows superb balance and obviously from some great material which others must not either have access to or knowledge on how to achieve best results at this level. I would place this a consistent second only to coche dury's version ( which surely is a compliment ) as a year in year out solid performer.

Burghound in Asia Grand Tasting (St. Regis, Singapore): Sappy with good citrus palate. Made in the quintessential Leflaive style, which is clean and elegant with a touch of cream. Great balance for the 2006 vintage. A very serious Bourgogne and easily the quality of a villages.

This tastes more like Puligny than humble Bourgogne blanc - I've had Puligny 1er Crus from lesser producers which aren't nearly as good as this. White flowers, mineral tinged stone fruits and long honeyed finish. Delicious.

I am stunned by the quality of this regional wine. Gorgeous yellow/gold color, beautiful nose of citrus, coconut, coffee beans, mineral, mineral and on and on of complexity. On the palate stunning texture, wrapping up the whole palate to take us into a long stride of pleasure, with waves and waves of nucances coming along. I cannot think anyone can possible guess this wine as being the 'generic' Bourgogne blanc. If anything some, and much experienced ones, would guess even grand cru, were they tasting this gem blind. paid 22euro, and only I wish I would be allowed to buy more of this! super wine, to begin with, but on top of that a great value. Easily better than many 1er cru from Chassagne and Puligny.

The Wines Of Domaine Leflaive (Wally's Wine & Spirits - Los Angeles, CA): Really distinct on the nose with waxy pungent notes of pineapple, melon, and honey. Superb density of fruit for this level with flavors of citrus, stone fruits, and spices. This has some tropical tones but there is wonderful acidity and nothing over the top. I found this to be very good for the Bourgogne level.

This is a lushious bottle of nectar. The nose gives off scents of wildflowers, lemon peel and a hint of honeysuckle. The taste is balanced with wonderful definition of the delicious, citrusy, lemony fruit with just the right amount of tartness. The finish is very long on lemony citrus.
This was the wine we enjoyed so much with the Mayos, Lemacks and Kings at Gerry’s club in Latrobe.

Picked after the Grand Cru in 06, as the fruit was ripening so fast at the time that Pierre Morey demanded the Grand Crus be picked 'immediatement', and it shows. Very ripe, rich and slightly exotic. Notes of custard apple and peach with round fruit flavours. Very forward drinking Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne (usually they are built for some age) and it will be interesting to see how this develops.

This showed very well. The wine was decanted and developed nicely with airing. The bouquet showed very good complexity and depth for a bourgogne blanc. The color was a vibrant and correct for its age. The palate showed good balance and intensity. The wine had a balanced and long finish with a correct level of acidity to give it some grip.
