Green tinged, mid amber; medicinal, iodine, orange peel, some botrytis; sweet, rich, powerful, shapely; finishes very long indeed. Has another 10 years to go.

This is just an awesome dessert wine that begins with a bouquet of petrol and apricots. On the palate it is full, rich and seemingly endless. With 252.7 g/l of residual sugar, the wine is in perfect harmony with the 9% abv and finishes with a nectar of the gods like magnificence. Truly a wine with tons of soul!

Dark gold with an orange hue, notes of treacle, toffee, mango and papaya. Very sweet, unctuous, and maybe a little more acidity would have been better - but still an awesome dessert wine!

Has become more honeyed with notes of chamomile, figs, grapes and apricots. Not as fresh and lively as in the past, which could be good or bad, depending on your tastes

2011 Casual Session - 21 @ Aoki (Aoki @ Shaw Centre): Alcohol :: 9% 2nd time to have this and this is clearly a better showing. Super intense and rich aromas, seductive! Peaches, apricot, sweet candy, rose syrup, spices and a little touch of earth. Similar to Donnhoff NH GG, this didn't show well when served well chilled but drinking beautifully when served in room temperature. Superb rich, viscous entry with excellent weight, but this never come across cloying nor heavy thanks to the lively acidity and abundant of dry extract and mineral for a solid backbone. Vibrant and smooth with complex flavors of preserve plum, honey, brown sugar, caramel pudding, red apple and a touch of black tea bitterness, very fresh! I really like the purity and balance here, very long finish too! 90-91

Tasting with Ron at the Day Apartment: How can you help but think to yourself, "Truly, this is the nectar of the gods". This was alive with fresh fruity acid underlying a honeyed core. I found the acid helped avoid any cloying character, but all the same, it would be a challenge to drink more than a few glasses of this alongside dessert. The RS could put me to sleep after a big meal with the delightful accompaniment we had of chocolate cake and fresh raspberries.

2011 Casual Session - 7, When casual gone insane (Extra Space Boon Keng): 375ml. Very deep golden. Most of my buddies thought this was a Tokaji and after awhile, one of my buddies was spot on to guess this was a Alois Kracher! My first Kracher and indeed this give me lots of pleasure and I'm impressed. Very rich, almost cloying but thanks to the firm acid that give this a buffer hence relatively light in its category. Bortrytis spices dominated the aromas with dried apricot and peaches, touch of raisin too. Very dense on the palate and lots of power in it that's almost explosive. The highlight of this wine is the balance. The finishing is medium length, but It was slightly disjointed which suggested this wine need plenty more time to have better integration and evolution. Buy - Maybe.

wow. enjoyed over 5-6 days. unbelieveably rich and concentrated, but with just enough acid to keep it from being cloying. millions of flavors - honey, peach, spice, some prune, oranges and more.

Chambolle 1er Cru Night with Sasi (The Universal @ Duxton Hill): Excellent. This was a really one-of-a-kind wine. No one quite makes wines like Alois Kracher, and the fact that no one could even place the country when this was served blind spoke volumes. Really powerful on the nose. Intense and complex, the glass just filled up with rich scents of nectarine, apricots, flowery orange blossoms, rich honey tones and a nice wafting darjeeling tea lift. Tons and tons of botrytis on the palate. Super rich, thick, almost viscous, yet it had enough acidity woven into its almost oily texture so that the wine never came across as cloying in spite of its massive weight. Again, really powerful, intense flavours here - honey notes galore, orange peel, orange marmalade, candied stone fruits, all moving inexorably through the mouth into a long finish where more of that lovely black tea note peeked out amongst the golden, honeyed flavours. This really derserved a lot more time and age in the bottle, but hey, this was as good an occasion to pop it as any.

Beautiful wine showing fantastic, mouth-covering viscosity. Honey and light fruit abound in this wine, which blew an 88 Rieussec out of the water. Great balance and a finish that won't stop.

Prosaic expressions here isn't enough. Poetry is best suited to characterize this masterpiece. (Unfortunately, I have not such skills.) Perfect! Then, why only 98 points? Because wine is still very young, and the last 2 points I will give to this wine, respectively, after 10 and 20 years in cellar.

Nice yellow/orange color. Sweet nose of fresh exotic fruits and some spices. In the mouth it is fat, sweet and composed of loads of different dried, fresh and sweet fruits - apricot, mango, pears. On day 1 I found it a bit unbalanced, but on day 2 the acid seemed more penetrating making it more vibrant and interesting. Enjoyed with very old stilton cheese and 24 months old british cheddar. Perfect!

Tremendously complex, young, incredibly unctuous dessert wine. Less sweet than expected, but the acidity seems spot on. Nose of lychee. The taste? Oh, coconut, banana, apple, lychee, cinnamon, etc. A lot going on. Probably not the best pairing wine given it's limited sweetness, but by itself it's wonderful, and perhaps in a few years it will be even more open with more to offer? Nice long finish that is perhaps a little mild.

(at Danube – NYC, from 375ml) I was not overwhelmed by this. Surprisingly light, good honey and grape flavors. Did not linger on the palate and seem good, but not great – still the flavors are delicious. (14)

This is the first example of a Kracher wine that I've tasted, and it's a nice drink. This is close to the first time that I've tasted clear, discernible tastes of apples and pears in a dessert wine as opposed the more "yellow" fruit that I've found in the SQN dessert wines. It has notes of spicy spice (is that redundant?) that include cinnamon and nutmeg with hints of white pepper that somehow cement the taste of the wine. The tastes of this wine are crystal clear, much in the same vein as an Ice Wine, but blends notes of so many different tastes that the overall effect is almost overwhelming in a very compelling way.
