Beautiful coppery color but not very oxidized or advanced. Frankly, I had trouble getting anything of interest out of this. Glad to have tried one with this kind of age but I think I prefer this wine in its youth unlike ageable roses like Simone or Musar.

Bright peachy orange. Speciale is right, this wine tastes like a very light savory red wine, but has the texture and grip of a white. Enjoyed with orange mustard chicken, great as an apertif.

A really special bottle of wine. This was a lot more serious than most roses I've had, and it was a welcome change of pace. It had an odd copper / salmon color that made it look a lot older than four years. It's fairly rich and weighty but has great acidity. It's just *slightly* oxidized and was delicious with and without food.

I liked this bottle more than the first time I had it, but to be fair I was having a very small pour so maybe that was the reason. Felt like there was good acidity some austuer flavors, interesting was the main thought here.

Warren's B-Day Bash (Washington, D.C.): Fun and unique as always, with aromas of watermelon, cheese rind and dried herbs. On the palate, cherry, strawberry and watermelon rind mixes with herbal and mineral tones. Not the most complex wine, but unique and interesting.

Reviews for this wine seem to be very polarized. I fall into the group that really liked this bottle. Paired this with cracked Dungeness crab, it seemed to have a complexity that offered that buttery yet sophisticated California Chardonnay complexity, but with a dry finish that you would expect from a bottle of rosé. I found the balance of these two characteristics were fantastic with the fresh local crab...then again maybe I was just in heaven with the crab. Would love to try this bottle again.

Beautifully aromatic, and the perfect rose when you actually want something with a little more bite. Paired with freshly foraged chanterelles and overly spicy sausage. Somehow it walked that tightrope.

Popped and poured. Color copper salmon. Nose came off a little alcoholic and sharp. On palate this was tasty enough but I think suffered from order of service. This followed a 40+ year old Riesling and was therefore running roughshod over my palate. Good wine though.

A beautifully complex wine. Has a slight diluted peach color and the typical Provence oily, med-full body. The nose is a little subdued but shows orange peel, suede, and a rich nutmeg aroma. The Palate give more showing butterscotch, nutmeg, orange peel, peach, coppery mineral notes and hints of leather and herbs. This is a rosé of interest. Refreshing in a intellectual manner. May be a little more inviting with a few more years of age, but pleasant if you know what you're in for.

Brett's Birthday Rose Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Orange/copper color. Aromas of watermelon, kumquat and marijuana, seriously. The palate shows juicy cherries and strawberries, along with a nice herbal-hemp flavor. This wine tastes old school, like it was made without much technology, and I like that. It definitely stood out as a funky, quirky wine.

Really interesting. the bouquet almost reminds you of an "old fashioned" (as does the color coincidentally). Cantaloupe and tart orange (almost like orange zest) and sweet red cherries flourish on the nose and the first taste. by mid-palate, it turns into earth/minerals and the mellows out with the melon/cantaloupe sweet residue on the finish.
Definitely worth having a few more. I haven't tried it with food yet, but I bet it will be killer with certain mussels/clams or seafood dishes.

This bottle seemed a little tired, I am advancing the drinking date of the remaining bottle. Somewhat fresher second day.

Very good Rose, but not as compelling as those we had in Languedoc 2 years ago.
