w/ Indian food. Still enjoy this wine but this btl seems a bit leaner and stripped down compared to past ones. Either btl variation or this is now a bit passed its prime. Have one more I will try to get to soon

Another check-in with this one. Really appreciating the tangy but dark syrah fruit, umani flavoring, and polished finish. Balance is sublime. This is the entry level Cornas from Durand but I think it is really impressive and drinking wonderfully. On a rainy night in the Bay Area, this is perfect.

I have amassed a really large trove of Cornas over the years, but seem to rarely drink them. Almost every time I do, however, no matter how modest in origin, I am reminded how great they are. This wine is no exception. Nose is amazing, effusive, almost room filling, animal notes, a little brett. Gorgeous sweet black cherry fruit, leather, tar, and dried flowers. Tremendous depth but really well balanced. Persistent finish with melty tannins. A richness here that makes it hard to drink more than a couple glasses (but I am trying!) There is nothing wrong here and so many things that are good. I continue to think Cornas has one of the very best Q:P ratios in the world.

Wow, just an amazing wine. There's horses ass, and big silky fruit, with meats, cured meats, just excellent. Love this. Poured at a party and it was the best of the night.
